Eugene Ellis has successfully served San Diego residents since 1976. He opened the first and only San Diego Ticket Clinic in 1978 wherein he fought the DMV and the courts for San Diego citizens to keep their drivers licenses and their DMV records clear of DUI and other traffic related crimes. In those days San Diego was a lot smaller and many judges did not fully grasp just how important a driver's license was in this town.

I have never had an attorney before and was skeptical going in to see one. My friend referred me to Mr DUI and because I trust him, I also put my trust in Mr/Mrs Ellis, Mr. Gilliland and the rest of their crew. Mr. Ellis and his wife May are an absolute God send. From the very first meeting, you realize that you weren’t dealing with the typical money grabbing Law firm. They actually practice old school law. I had to give this review a 1 star because there wasn't a zero star rating, this guy is a joke. First they will schedule a 2 hour meeting, the first 1:45 minutes will be a spiel on how great of a DUI lawyer he is, how he and his wife fought the Viet Cong and Pirates in Vietnam, how he fought and speared sharks for dinner when he was a young man.
The last 15 minutes he'll tell you that it's going to be $12,500 for the defense of your DUI. DO NOT HIRE THIS JOKER!

Great family oriented firm that will work for your justice. They take the time to physically know each client, and find the evidence to build your case. In my opinion, this guy should be disbarred. In my opinion, HE'S A LIAR AND A THIEF!!! When I went in, my first question was: do I have a defense and is it really viable? He said that I had a great chance of beating my DUI.
I was told repeatedly that I did not need to appear in Court, but I wish that I had.

It was awful getting a second DUI, so ill start there. They were all very easy and very personable to talk with, and of course I knew the outcome was not guaranteed. Mr. Bell is very passionate and great at his job... as I got no jail time, a slight fine, and some comm service. Deffinetly more then satisfied at the outcome of such a avoidable and stupid crime. They actually seem to care about you as a person, and Im just ready to get these classes and comm service over with and NEVER DRINK AND DRIVE!!! The 2nd IS FAR WORSE!!!

After my husband getting a DUI, we turned to Mr. DUI. The founder, Eugene Ellis has you come in for the initial meeting late at night, then you have to watch this boring 30 minute DVD about all of the great work he has done, and how he gets people off, and really tries to sell you a pitch. Then you meet with him in person, and he rambles on about useless stuff, while his wife does all the actual work. It was the strangest meeting I have ever been to. This guy is a total SCAM ARTIST! He initially has you watch a stupid home made video with cheap sound effects that blabs nonsense and once you actually get to sit down with him and talk about YOUR case, he strictly talks about HIMSELF ONLY. Mrs. DUI was nice. They basically told me to get me off it would cost upwards of $18K. They had me going out to the site, taking photos, getting GPS coordinates, etc. -- no. For $4400, that's their job.
Their receptionist/office manager/paralegal not only mis-spelled my name (and turned it into a MAN'S name by doing so), when I called to schedule an appointment, she chastised me, "And make sure you show up for this

Ellis' lawyers do not care about their clients what so ever, I got screwed in the worse possible way and not only the $4000 I spent did not help, it made things worse as now that it's been 9 months since my violation and only because of following Greg Bell's misleading advices I will not get my full license back until July-10.
I must admit that after getting my DUI, I was desperate to get a lawyer. I thought Mr. Ellis' team could help. I could not be more wrong. They offer you this
