At Cocheco Elder Law Associates, PLLC, we focus on estate planning, elder law, asset protection, and closely related practice areas. How can I protect my assets, and the inheritances I leave to my children, against creditors, lawsuits, long-term care costs, taxes, and other potential threats?. How can I make sure that people I know and trust will have the authority to make financial and medical decisions for me if I become incapacitated?.
There are plenty of law firms in southern New Hampshire and Maine, including firms that focus on estate planning. What sets Cocheco Elder Law Associates, PLLC apart from the rest? We believe it is our collaborative approach to the practice of law. Upon sitting down with a prospective client, Tom asks a series of questions: Why have you come to see me?

Many people think "estate planning" is only concerned with the distribution of assets after death. While that is certainly part of it, estate planning can also address lifetime and end-of-life issues. For instance, a well-designed and properly implemented estate plan can ensure that a person of your choosing, a person you know and trust, has the authority to make financial and medical decisions on your behalf if you become incapacitated.
Elder Law encompasses a wide range of practice areas, including Medicaid planning, estate planning, long-term care planning, asset protection, and more. At Cocheco Elder Law Associates, PLLC, we have extensive experience in all of these areas, and are dedicated to helping seniors and their loved ones plan for and manage the changes that accompany growing older.

They seem to make mistakes so that they can spend more time on fixing those mistakes to charge more. Not good at all in regards to communication. Weeks with no response. It almost seems as though his paralegal uses a typewriter and seemed rude in her responses.

I have nothing but positive things to say about this law practice. Attorney Torr was very helpful in setting up a trust for my family and provided much needed advise. Some time after setting up the trust, I contacted the office for help as I was in the process of selling a home that was involved with the trust. Robin Pento was extremely helpful and assisted me in finalizing all the paperwork related to the sale. She was even thorough enough to follow up with me to ensure that all went well.

My mom has been trying to get a copy of her trust and will for several months now to no avail. We are very frustrated that my mom paid for services in advance and has not received her documents. She has called several times as have I. I was told the documents would be mailed over two weeks ago. This is not right! We started the simple process in June and my mom was told she had to pay in advance before the documents would be processed back in July. My mom is ill, undergoing Chemo for a blood condition and this isn't helping her stress levels. We are VERY Disappointed at the lack of professionalism
