Our divorce law practice focuses on assessing the best way to move your family through this challenging transition by giving you options while vigorously protecting your rights, when necessary.
With twenty-three years of legal experience in the New Hampshire Seacoast area, including Dover, Rochester, and Portsmouth, I have tried and negotiated hundreds of civil and criminal cases and lead the team of NH lawyers in our Seacoast-based offices. My work has spanned District, Juvenile, Superior, and Supreme Courts and includes dozens of jury trials and bench trials, including high-stakes, complex felony jury trials.
Right over the river from both our Dover and Portsmouth offices is the State of Maine. Many people who work in the Seacoast of New Hampshire live in Maine. Family or divorce law is state-specific and the state in which you can go to court to get a family law matter resolved is going to be governed most likely by the state in which you live.
At our firm, Family Law is our primary focus and most of what we do, with NH Divorce Law and Mediation being key focus areas of our practice. We are in the local family law courts often, and we are familiar with the Judges or Marital Masters who hear your cases. While we cannot predict outcomes for you, but we can guide you through the process with the knowledge of what to expect in certain courts that comes from many years of experience.

Both attorney Ecker and Weibrecht were excellent. I had urgent and timely needs that they attended to extremely well. Sadly I got to use their services twice against different attorneys on different cases. Both times they succeeded in achieving my goals at extremely reasonable rates with minimal expenditures. I know that opposing parties spent three times as much for equitable services. If you are in need of their assistance I recommend them highly. I had a great experience with Weibrecht & Ecker. Kim Weibrecht was very patient and helpful throughout the very long, painful process of divorce. She was very thorough and client oriented. Kim Weibrecht is an outstanding attorney and mediator. Her knowledge of the law and its application is superb. My case started in 2017 and at initial meeting, she highlighted all options, but more importantly, how law would be applied in worse case scenario. Our case went worse case but everything Kim said would happen did. Her understanding of my family , employment, and stresses was personal and not superficial. We were unable to settle or mediate but that was due to opposing counsel and former spouse failing to recognize me trying to be overly generous with numerous offers that were not even

Although this firm touts itself as being a father’s rights advocate, I found in no way did they advocate for me as a father. They often had to be reminded of basic facts that had been provided and be corrected when speaking to the judge. Never once did I feel like they were on my side. The firm pushes for mediation, which is great if both parties agree to it, however they really can’t seem to handle any litigated matter. I was bounced between attorneys constantly, each one being sure to run up billable hours while they “got caught up on my case.” They were completely out class by my ex
