DeMure Dance
The DeMure Dance Studio, led by director Angela Demure and instructor Shaleena Bonnell, has been offering Latin and other social dance classes in the Twin Cities since 2012. DeMure Dance is about movement, music, fun and wellbeing. We enrich our students' lives with social dance skills that are practiced around the world.

DeMure Dance instructors take pride in creating a friendly, professional environment in which dancers of all levels can come together to enjoy social dances and music in a fun, motivating and energetic atmosphere! We believe that learning to dance is an investment in each student's personal happiness; and that all it takes is that first step.
Services
In dance and in business, we like good partners! We've had the pleasure of teaching at a number of partner locations throughout the years (Social Dance Studio, Dancer's Studio, Tula Yoga, DanceLife, Fallout Arts, and Dance with us America). Since 2017, we've had the pleasure of partnering with the amazing Flying Pig Studio in Richfield.
Private lessons are often the best and fastest way to reach your goals. We personalize each lesson based on your individual needs and adjust our teaching style to your ability, personality, and expectations. It's your special day and you want to celebrate with confidence and style. Whether it's for a couple's first dance, mother-son, father-daughter, or the entire bridal party - we can help.
Or been in a class where it's hard to advance because new beginners are always added, slowing down the pace? With our award-winning, series-based format, featuring a standardized curriculum, there's no more guessing - and you WILL advance! Once you reached the intermediate or advanced levels, you'll be able to continue with the monthly series format or purchase a class pass for 5-10 classes which you can use whenever fits best for your schedule.
The creation of salsa music is often credited to New Yorkers of Cuban and Puerto Rican ancestry of the 1960s, who mixed their Mambo and Cuban "Son" roots with the influences of American Jazz music. Salsa Level 1* curriculum includes: Basic steps and partnership connection, right turns, left turns, and the cross body lead.
Bachata, originating from the Dominican Republic, is a music and dance style with 4 beats per measure. The basic step, is comprised of 3-steps in one direction and a pause on the 4th beat, which can be marked by a tap of the foot, or other styling choices. And then you just repeat - back to the other side!

I went into my first class a little nervous. But the teachers are extremely professional and easy going. They know how to teach to the extreme beginner. I can't wait to take more classes and build on my skills!

I used Thumbtack to find DeMure Dance. I was looking for a belly dancing instructor as my friend really wanted to try it and so I planned it as a surprise for her birthday for her and 6 of her friends. Angela worked with me to find the ideal time and she was quick to respond and easy to communicate with ahead of time. We did the class virtually. And, the class was so fun! Even more so than we expected. Angela was fun, very knowledgable, and a wonderful teacher. I feel like I actually learned how to belly dance! She was very accommodating of our group and did a really wonderful job. We had a blast
