On a drive from Cheyenne to Denver, Dr. Larry Eklund found his gas tank on empty, and pulled off in the small town of Wellington to fill up. When he did, he found a town with a great view of the Rockies and a comfortable, hometown atmosphere. He drove around a bit, and immediately knew this was the place he would soon call home.

Dr. Eklund is an optometrist in Wellington providing complete eye care services for the surrounding communities. As a licensed optometrist, Dr. Eklund provides exams, diagnoses, and treatments of all disorders that affect the eye or vision. In addition to training in eye diseases and disorders, Dr. Eklund is also trained in anatomy, biochemistry, and physiology.

I have been coming to Dr Eckland for many years since his arrival.
Having NUMEROUS eye health problems including dry eye, eye infections (epischleritis?), cataracts, brain injury causing neurological & light problems etc.. you name, I was gifted with just about everything eye related.
Dr Eckland was ALWAY been a step ahead, or on it immediately, & even available on his off time if I was experiencing eye pain.
He is COMPLETELY adept at every new development in technology, & he was able to prevent me from getting both types glaucoma by early detection & proper medication & early treatment.

I had my first appointment at Wellington Eye Care this week and was very favorably impressed. The entire staff greeted me warmly and introduced themselves with name and position. Throughout the visit I was informed of what we would be doing next, what was it for, and how it would be done. Dr. Eklund provided detailed and informative information regarding test results and what exactly each result meant. If there were options to consider for future interventions, he offered those. I felt the clinic staff listened to my concerns and answered my questions. I have planned my follow-up care with them

Larry Eklund’s strong point is his conscientious service. He backs up his competence with a caring, thorough concern for his patients. Through diligence he searches for conditions which may require references to specialists, and acts on the results of his findings. He goes way beyond just examining for the right pair of glasses.

It is generally stressful going to a new doctor, but that was not the case for me on my first visit to Wellington Eye Care. Dr. Eklund and his staff made me feel welcome and comfortable. I was not treated like a widget on a conveyor belt, being pushed through in a certain amount of time. The staff that performed my initial tests were friendly, thorough, and explained what each test was for and what to expect. I felt like Dr. Eklund actually listened to my concerns and heard what I was saying. He answered all of my questions, and gave me wonderful insights into what is happening with my eyes. I

Wellington Eye Care is a great place for all of your eye care needs. They have knowledgeable staff and detailed exams to ensure the best eye health. Normally I am all about supporting local businesses, but this place is one I will no longer support. I decided to try here as I needed a new pair of glasses and contacts. After two visits there, a trip to the specialist (who told me what I had is normal), and a $600 bill later, I still do not have contacts. They say I have to come in for a third "contact check" visit. They do not tell you up front what the cost is going to be and they do not tell you what things will/will not be covered by insurance. When I asked about that on my first visit, the receptionist told me I had good insurance

I've been going here for several years and Dr Ecklund and his staff is always prompt, professional, and courteous. The doctor is certainly a well rounded optometrist and inspires confidence in my treatment(which is more than routine exams). I especially like that when he is not versed in a topic I ask about he will find out and follow up with me. Outstanding.

I have been wearing glasses and contacts for close to twenty years and Wellington Eye care was by far the best optometry office I have ever been to. The doctor and staff made sure to explain everything as it happened and answered any questions I have. Prior to going to Wellington Eye Care the optometry appointments I have experienced consisted of the doctor never giving me any feedback or explanation beyond monosyllabic grunts during the exam. This is not the case at Wellington Eye Care, where the staff takes the time to explain the health of your eye. The staff was also fantastic with helping
