Very very overpriced. 4 month for a rebuild...
It's like if it's not an $8000 job they can't be bothered

If you have transmission problems this is 100% the place to go. Not only were they more than reasonable but their customer service and techs are top notch!!! The time that they fixed the original problem was phenomenal!!! You guys are amazing and I can't thank you enough!!!!!

I recently bought a vehicle and had a pretty bad shudder . After being referred to ACE transmission Geoff was spot on with his diagnosis, and was fair with his pricing. He was very professional to deal with. They even noticed an annoying rattle coming from the exhaust system and fixed that at no extra charge. In an age where your always worried whether your being told the truth or not, it was comforting to deal with a shop that is honest and trustworthy . I will be referring all that will listen to ACE transmission.

I found this place based on positive reviews and it seems they were well deserved. Geoff got me in and out in one day. You know someone is being honest when they refuse to take your money. He couldn't recreate the problem and rather than charge me for work I didn't need, he told me to come back when the problem returns. He was clearly knowledgeable about his craft. I will definitely be returning and sending him business when I can.

I won't take my truck anywhere else for transmission problems. Very fair and honest, and quality work. Don't get shafted by your dealership, I've had a far better experience here.

I bought an old Jeep in a great shape, but with a bad transmission. Took it to Ace. Jeff called me with options and I chose the transmission rebuild option. Murphy's law made the solenoids malfunction right after I got my Jeep back. The solenoids are not part of the transmission rebuild. Jeff offered to change the solenoids for the price of the solenoids themselves. No labor cost. If that does not deserve 5 stars, I don't know what does. I would highly recommend Ace Transmissions to anyone!

On a weekend I was visiting a community in Torrington and after I arrived my manual transmission stopped working. I returned to NJ and arranged to have the car towed to Ace on Monday morning.They were fabulous. The problem was promptly diagnosed and speedily repaired at a price that was ridiculously fair. Indeed since I was an out of towner the potential for dishonesty was great, yet Jeff and his team were scrupulously honest, fair and enormously helpful!
No one likes having a transmission problem, but if I ever have another one, I would travel great distances to have them do the work.

My car wouldn't shift over to 5th, and I know next to nothing about transmissions so I brought it over to Jeff at Ace Automatic. He got me in within a few days (this was in the summer months, the busiest time of the year).
Jeff said if it were his car, he would do a valve body replacement, which would be about $800. He easily could've said I needed a whole new transmission which would've been about $2000 more. I feel like a LOT of other mechanics would've taken advantage of that. Car is great after over a year. My car was all set in 1 week all said and done, including the diagnosis.
