I called in the morning because the heat would not come on. That afternoon Daniel Chunilall was sent. He checked the furnace and the thermostat. He determined the thermostat was not working and needed to be replaced.The heat had never worked so well. He explained everything he needed to do and why. He was very professional and efficient.

I had a nozzle blow on my water heater today. I called 23 plumbers and Martel was only one of a few who answered the phone but also the only company that would show up after hours to do a repair. Took less than an hour for them to show up which for a Saturday afternoon is fantastic. I thought it was a huge problem but once Jake checked it out it ended up being a quick repair. He also showed me how to turn of the main water and gas since I just purchased the house. He was not only knowledgeable but also extremely professional and friendly. As a mom home alone with my child, I felt very comfortable

Anthony from Martel made every effort to get to my father's house asap, as his Central Air unit had stopped working and I was very concerned about his health because he's 91 and doesn't tolerate the heat/humidity at all. Anthony made an adjustment that allowed the AC unit to function until it gets replaced this month. The unit is over 20 years old and has definitely seen better days. Each and every time Martel has come out to service my father's heating system, they've done exceptional work. Read a few of the comments, and I see a pattern. I too was told that my old gas boiler was in imminent threat of failure, and needed replacing immediately.
12 grand.
Tech also forgot to switch the gas from "pilot" to "on" after servicing, so there's that.
Called a better plumber, who said they were just trying to sell a system. Gave me a tour of the boiler, explained what the parts did, what happens when they fail, and when they need replacing. And didn't charge for the visit.
Martel is just trying to sell complete systems, not help customers

Wish I could give negative stars. Have had no heat/hot water for 5 days and counting. Say I need parts they had to order but 5 days later they cannot confirm part ordered or ETA for delivery and repair.
In the meantime they did something that makes my blower run 24/7 and blow out cold air (it is winter BTW.) Calling for Emergency service for three days and they keep saying a technician will call me back, which of course they never have.
Also found out from office staff that the supposed HVAC tech they sent out was actually just a plumber. That explains why, after 2 hours, he had to call for reinforcements

Do not use this company. Called them to come out when our water heater was leaking. Guy from Martel HVAC came out, said it was a "really old" water heater (it was only 5 years old) and that they don't make them any longer (they do - bought a replacement at Home Depot two days later). Said it would cost "at least" $2000 to replace the water heater. Ummm what? So ridiculous. Bought one at Home Depot for $425, had a plumber install. Total was about $1000 - for the water heater and having the plumber remove the old one and install the new one to gas lines. This company

I called Martel HVAC because my home AC stopped working. They showed up the same day, which was nice. During first 15-20 min, they identified the problem: compressor is dead, and the AC is too old to repair and is better be replaced with a new one. I was ready for that, after all, my AC was 30 years old.
That is where the OK part ends. Instead of giving me a quote for replacing the AC, they spent another 1.5 hour around my old AC. At the end of the second hour, they repeated the exact same thing about replacing the old AC with a new one, and produced a bill for two hours of work, totaling $259

My older parents are currently using this company to service their heating system via a pre-paid maintenance contract. They loss their heat on a Thursday during the winter and Martel came to the home that day and diagnosed the problem and told them they need two special order parts but they could have them on either Friday or Saturday. My parents never heard back from Martel and are now not returning their calls and they still have no heat 4 days later.
They have now called another vendor who is addressing the issue and have indicated that Martel told them they need more parts then required to

NO SHOW. They were subcontracted from Pivotal Home Solutions to repair my furnace, which stopped working. Pivotal sent them the claim and said they would call us to come and fix it. More than two hours later they had not called, so I called them and left a message with their answering service. About 20 hours later they still have not called back, and we are still without heat (in January, near Boston). I gave up and called a different company.
