Even if you've already heard about the many benefits that come with installing solar panels on your home, we have some additional solar panel information that can make the installation of these devices even more of a financially appealing option. Not only does solar energy have an impact on your energy bill, it also makes a huge positive impact on the environment.
Over the last 30 years, PG&E has increased its price per kilowatt for electricity an average of 6 percent per year. By going solar, you're locking in a PG&E rate at today's prices and your savings over the coming years can be quite substantial. A look at PG&E rate schedules over a short period of time will tell you how unpredictable you can expect your electric bill to be.
To maximize the value of your solar system, we recommend installing energy storage batteries. With energy storage, solar is used not only to complement grid power to reduce your energy bills, but also to charge batteries which can then power your entire home during grid power outages (which are becoming more and more common in the Bay Area), or during the night.
If you have to ask "what is a solar panel?" now is the time to enjoy the benefits of a lower dependency on fossil fuels and lower energy bills. There are also many additional ways to use less energy including the following tips. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, 75% of the electricity utilized by consumer electronics is used while the devices are shut off.
Below are some Frequently Asked Questions about How Does Solar Energy Work?. and the Frequently Given Answers we provide about your utility company, performance and more. In some ways, nothing changes. You'll still be connected to your utility grid and maintain your relationship with your current local utility company.

The solar panels were installed years ago, recently I found out one of the panel produces less compare to the others. I made an appointment with Skytech Solar to trouble shooting my problem. John Weigel came by to fix the issue. He's very professional and explained to me the problem of my solar panel. I was thankful for what he did, I will recommend the Skytech Solar to my friends.

Skyech installed a 3kW system at my residence in 2018 and were extremely accommodating with my requests. I cannot recommend them enough for residential solar installations. Adam, especially, went above and beyond with the system design given the obstacles presented in my particular solar installation.

Skytech Solar provided professional and efficient service on our complicated (multi-faceted) roof. They were very detailed in their planning and responsive regarding our preferences about location. They were careful about their work and took care not to damage our gutters and our landscaping. The panels work well and Skytech handled the permitting process and connecting to PG&E! We couldn’t be happier and highly recommend Skytech Solar.

Skytech Solar has the worst Customer Service after installation we could ever had envisioned! We had our solar system installed in 7/2016. When installed, Skytech installed a WiFi reading system to monitor our electrical production using a device called a envoy, which sends updates monthly from a company called Enlighten. Well, Enlighten has sent us updates stating our system is not responding. We have reached out to Skytech with multiple phone calls and emails for assistance. After all of our calls, we finally received a return call from a very rude Skytech employee that explained that our name

Great staff, every step of the process made easy by the staff and crew. Justin the Solar Consultant answered all questions and responded promptly to phone questions. From beginning to end, including the young man who waited patiently for sign off by Walnut Creek, went out of their way to make this process easy.

This was a very professional installation with all code requirements met (not an easy task in my city). The selection of panels and inverter were right for my residence and the system has been working perfectly for nearly a year now. I really like the online monitoring and look at the system performance frequently. The only reason this is not five stars is due to the surprising delay between order and installation, nearly six months. Would recommend Skytech Solar to anyone.

I decided to go with Skytech Solar through the 2018 Bay Area sunshares program, which made their pricing even more affordable than usual. Even without sunshares I would highly recommend them to anyone considering solar. They had plenty of options for panels, inverters, etc., including the type of bang-for-buck option I was looking for. Before my decision, they were not pushy but were very quick to respond to all my questions.
I also really appreciated how the team worked easily and efficiently around my uncertain roof replacement schedule. The installation has been trouble-free so far (a few months

The team at Skytech Solar is very competent and knowledgeable about solar installations. They also have a great selection of panels, from basic to advanced LG Neon R panels, at competitive prices.
I researched solar for a month before I made a decision, and met with 5 different companies in the bay area (all top rated). Skytech Solar stood out with their competitive pricing (SunShares program), good customer service and overall fit for my project.
Here are the specific reasons they were the optimal choice for my project:
- I wanted high-quality solar panels. LG Neon R 365W is a new module, which

We had Skytech install panels on our roof in Sept 2016. We got bids from 4 companies and Skytech had the lowest price by quite a lot. That made us a little nervous thinking quality and service would suffer, but they had good reviews so we took the chance with them and were not disappointed. They were easy reach via calls and emails and showed up mostly on time, but always got a call when they were running late. It took about 5-6 weeks from contract signing to panels going live. We did not get any leaks in our roof even after this winter's heavy rains. We wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

We've had our solar panel install for about two months now and so far so great. The Skytech team were great to work with. We originally began our conversations with Kai late 2016 and were ready to go - but with the winter rains coming in and some mishaps from a roof leak - the team was so gracious (and patient) with our many postponements as we fixed our roof.
We did our install through the San Mateo County SunShares program. Of the three installers I spoke to - Kai was the most informative, and treated us like a customer (not a number on a waitlist, or a check to be collected). He

It's a little difficult to know how to evaluate this project; it is the largest project, in both time and cost, that I've ever had done on our home. I don't really have anything to compare against, in evaluating them. So I'll compare against other, smaller contracting jobs that I've had done, as best as I can.
The good:
- I had much confidence in the original sales person that I dealt with; unlike the other solar company that I contacted, he did not give me a high-pressure sales assault, he just talked about what they offered, how they would evaluate my requirements

We found Skytech Solar through the Peninsula SunShares program. I have tried to get a solar company through Sunshares FOUR TIMES to come take a look at our roof and Skytech was the only one willing to do so. The other companies thought our installation was either too small (i.e. disguised as we didn't use enough electricity to warrant a PV system) or would not work on clay tile roofs (that was Sunrun). Skytech was willing to come out to talk with us and look at our 2-tier clay tile roof. The rep provided us a very thorough analysis of what were the possibilities, the cost and the pay-back
