Services
The Bike Couriers Bike Shops began as and remain a response to urban transportation needs. It's founder, Jackie Green, has been car-free in Louisville since 1999. Here is the timeline. 2002 - Jackie Green (as Executive Director of the Coalition for the Advancement of Regional Transportation) began asking motor vehicle based courier businesses to service downtown deliveries by bicycle.
Basic - General condition and safety inspection of bike. Brake and gear adjustments, lube cables and chain, wheel true, inflate tires, and you're ready to ride. Assumes bike is good condition. Special -Includes everything from our Basic Tune-Up plus: hub adjustment, headset adjustment, and chain and drivetrain clean.
December is a target. If the target is hit, it is certain that only some of the bikes will be in before the new year. Nor can suppliers predict freight and tariff costs. From the Jamis website: "Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price excludes shipping costs, dealer assembly/prep, taxes or import duties."
We invite you to enjoy some of Louisville's greatness and beauty, but also hope you will learn from some of our urban mistakes. For instance, Louisville recently completed a $3 billion highway project, yet we have a weak public transit system, we cannot repair sidewalks and we keep building surface parking lots.
Climb the stairs to 1880. Time travel to Louisville post Civil War. The finish on the woodwork is original. The roof and windows are new - everything else is original. The layout of the floors is identical, two south rooms separated from two north rooms by a central stairwell. We need to partner with an experienced entity capable of financing the renovation in exchange for a long term lease.

I'm really grateful to this shop. They truly care about building a vibrant, well-equipped, and safe biking community in Louisville. I have long admired their owner Jackie Green for his important work making Louisville more bike friendly.
I probably would not have gotten a bike if not for their involvement in the bike exchange program at the University of Louisville. The deal was that in return for forgoing a parking pass for two years, I'd get a $400 voucher to use at one of a handful of local bike shops, which included Bike Couriers. I chose them because they were closest to my house

Walked in off the street young guy Russ was great. knowledge and product range was great no gimmicks, wanted to try a few bikes set them all up and went for a ride on all back and forth until I was happy. No pressure to buy but I did end up getting one and added a few extras. Russ was happy to talk all things cycling while he got my bike ready and I rode out of that shop very happy.

I called at 5:50pm and asked if I could possibly race in to get my chain replaced or if it was too late (store closes at 6pm). Jackie Told me to hurry, but yes, that he could help. He was quick and efficient at what he did. The shop had a shocking amount of accessories for sale, and was well stocked for the peculiar sized innertubes that I also needed (Park Side was not as well equipped nor as helpful in selling me the right size). I was very satisfied with the service and the prices were reasonable. I will gladly return. They are also open on Saturdays!

I brought my bike for a brake issue. The owner looked at it and knew immediately what the issue was, and had it ready for me in no time. He also found other issues with parts not being tightly screwed in, and went ahead and tightened everything up for me so that my bike was road-ready.
He very cordially helped me with tips on how to maintain the bike when I asked. There was no hint of condescension from him because of the price-range/quality of my bike, nor was there any animosity toward me because I did not purchase a bike from there.
Everyone was very courteous, professional and friendly

Very friendly, helpful and courteous. The times I have taken my bikes here for tuneup or repair, the service has been a fast turn around. More than once over the past two years, I have called numerous bike shops to get a repair estimate (cost and time). This shop has been the least expensive (for general tune-ups) and fastest turn around time.
So, I drive a little out of my way to bring my bikes here. I have not been disappointed yet. Gave only 4 stars because of free parking difficulty close to the shop sometimes. But....they are downtown so that is to be expected.

This place is terrible. Bad dismissive customer service. Also bad bike services if you are not going to upgrade to the expensive gear these snobs don't want you as a customer and it will show in the shotty work that they do. Unless you are centenarian who spent more than a K on your bike don't go to this place not good for noobs or people just starting out.

I tried to call at this shop to ask a question whether if I need an appointment for a tune up. The guy refuses to take my call because I used a Relay Service calls since I am deaf.
Relay service: Telecommunications Relay Service, also known as TRS, Relay Service, Video Phone or IP-Relay, or Web-based relay services, is an operator service... an operator replays messages between a deaf person and a hearing person.
The gentleman hung up on me twice, saying "I don't have time for this, bye bye." before I'd say a word.
This place is nothing but full of hatred and ignorance.

Best Bike Guys in Louisville!
I arrived in Louisville on the Thursday before Ironman, only to find out my seat rail clamp disintegrated on me. Expo guys and bike transport guys tried to help, but could not make, build or have the time to fix my part. I was even told I would need to rent a bike, because nobody could probably fix or get my part. These guys took the time to create a very solid rail clamp with other bike parts. It never moved, slipped or broke. They may not sell tri-bikes, but they definitely know how to fix them.
They saved the day for me. Many thanks. I highly recommend
