In 2002 I received my B.S. in Biology from U.C. Irvine. During school, while working as a kennel attendant at a veterinary clinic, I met my wife Teresa. Following completion of school I worked as a laboratory technician in the endocrinology department for Quest Diagnostics for almost 2 years.
I married Teresa in the summer of 2003, and whilst on our honeymoon, we fell in love with New Zealand and I made the life changing decision to move there and apply to become a Veterinarian.I was accepted into the AVMA accredited program at Massey University, in Palmerston North. I started at Groveway Veterinary Hospital in Castro Valley, CA working as a full time associate veterinarian.

Parasite prevention is another aspect of good preventative care. The 4 major parasite groups we are concerned with in companion animals are intestinal worms, fleas, ticks and heartworm. Heartworm is a serious disease that can cause severe illness or even death based on the impact on the heart and lungs.

Very disappointed with Kihei Veterinary Clinic. We were questioning them about my cat who had a dark ring around his nose after spending $1K last week. The receptionist Lexie told me to email them a picture. I called to verify email address. Safron answered and said there would be another $50 office visit fee.
Safron was extremely hostile putting me in defensive mode. The Office Manager Jessica emailed me a letter stating they no longer wanted my service. They were basing their opinion of me from a Veterinarian visit several years ago from a Midwest State. How unethical! In fact Jessica called

These guys are wonderful, you can trust them with your loved pup or kitty. They're still strict on CoVID-19 restrictions, but they're very good about getting to you in the parking lot quickly as you wait in your vehicle or they have two small benches on their deck which you can sit.
I can't think of enough nice things to say about these people, but they're incredibly kind to be giving such love during such restrictive times.

We have been going to Kihei Vet for over 5 years, and I never write reviews. However, the amount of compassion and care we've received during this difficult time with our pup has been invaluable. Dr. Hellsen and the staff here have been wonderful and responsive and it's been truly appreciated.

Maui calls to a variety of people, no small number of them dog owners. The process is neither simple, nor inexpensive, but it assures your animal is in top health when joining the island population. Karen and the team at Kihei Veterinary Clinic made this process run as smooth as silk. The value lies in the preparation and process-guidance assistance provided. With Karen's help, the complex process back East as well as interaction with the state of Hawaii went off without issue. I had all my paperwork ready for the friendly folks at Hawaiian Airlines who spirited Liam The Dog away with great care

This vet clinic has been around for quite some time and has lived up to its reputation as being a hospital institution to bring your pets. The techs were knowledgeable and the doctor was super nice. One star off as I felt the general examination wasn't as thorough as I would have liked. Overall a good experience.
