Services
Originally just a program for preschool aged children, the organization expanded in 1982 to include care for infants and toddlers. In response to a community need, the program expanded again in 2009 in order to provide after-school care. Currently, the Child Care Center provides year-round, early care and education to sixty-five children ages six weeks through five years.
The Child Care Center in Norwich relies on donations and fundraising events to keep our fees as affordable as possible and to provide additional support for projects. Cash Donations: If you would like to make a cash donation, this can be done through Network for Good's secure donations service or PayPal.
The Robins' Nest provides a warm, nurturing atmosphere for eight children ages six weeks to two plus years. Children are on individualized schedules based on the developmental needs of each child. We do find that similar aged children tend to be on similar schedules, which provides a peer group for early social interaction.
The Stargazers offers a full-day program for ten children ages two to three years. Our curriculum is play based and shaped by the interests of the children. Therefore each year we investigate different subjects. There are some topics that reoccur from year to year, for example, space, oceans, weather/seasons, bugs and cars, however, the sequence and duration depends on the group.
The focus of the curriculum in this classroom is the development of social skills and peer interactions in preparation for Kindergarten. The teachers establish a physical and learning environment that addresses all the aspects of the children's development to ensure that children see themselves as capable learners.
