I would give this establishment 5-stars if I wrote this review after my very first appointment. Absolutely love Jane: her enthusiasm, educated mannerism, and overall amazing spirit. However, after today, I was left a little disappointed after spending $160 for a color touch up that needed only a hint of color; not even styled. Just walked out with a half damp, frizzy head of hair. Granted, I love the color!

I got a hair cut with Jesika today and I cannot get over how amazing my hair looks. I have curly hair and I could definitely tell Jesika really knew how to cut curly hair. Most hair cuts I've gotten in the past, the stylist just treated my hair the same as straight hair, but Jesika definitely took an approach unique to my hair. Probably the best hair cut I've ever gotten, so so happy. The salon is cute and seemed very clean. Also great pricing and lots of street parking. Really nice staff.

I got my hair done by Lexie Kaiser and it wasn't anything like I asked for. The highlights she gave me were blonde and looked really unnatural in my black hair. I ended up leaving the salon looking like a zebra. In addition to that, she charged me more than I was initially told it would cost. I had to get my hair redone at a different salon.

Avenue 42 is amazing. I’ve gotten my hair done a few times, which had been wonderful but honestly my favorite beautician is Maria. She is very skilled and talented, as well as professional and kind. I used to go to her for henna brows and she would make my brows look perfect. She learned powder brow, so I got that done and she seriously changed my life! You can tell Maria loves what she does and tries to learn more in the beauty world/ stay updated with trends. I live in New York now, but I will be flying home to get my brows retouched because I only trust Maria!!!

The girls at Avenue 42 are amazing. My first experience with them was as a bridesmaid for a friend’s wedding. As I began to plan my own wedding; I immediately knew I needed them for my hair and make up needs. Diane was so professional and efficient during the initial booking process and remained so in scheduling my trial session. As COVID 19 hit, Diane was flexible and accommodating to changes in the number of styling services required and the changing location of service. Natalie and Jane were phenomenal during the trial session and more than willing to make changes for the final wedding look

I made an appointment with Avenue 42 because they are rated #1 for best bridal hair and makeup (I'm getting married next year!). But I'm staying because of Brighton! She made my experience very enjoyable and was super careful with my hair cut. This salon is clean, classic, and has a great, comfortable vibe. I will definitely be back for my routine hair maintenance and will definitely be booking a stylist for my wedding hair and makeup! 10/10!

Brighton has been doing my hair for a little over a year and every time she has been so awesome. She took me to blonde from red and then back to black and killed it at every appointment along the way. Every cut has been really flattering. I also got a Brazilian blowout with her and loved the results from that. I used to hate getting my hair done because I would be so anxious about making small talk. Brighton turned something I hated into something I look forward to. I can't recommend her more. Avenue 42 in general is so clean, beautiful, and a comfortable environment. The front desk people

Jane Steele at Avenue 42 did my bridal hair and makeup at the Ave 42 salon. From our initial hair and makeup trial to the big day itself, Jane was so easygoing, professional, and very open to any tweaks or changes. I haven’t trust my eye brows to someone for a loooong time. Did a lot of research for a right master. But since I met Maria I knew I am in a good hands and can trust her with my eyebrows, lushes and lips. I’ve been her client for almost 2 years and she done absolutely amazing job. We did powder eyebrows and retouch which I have so many compliments on. We did tint and lift lushes couple times and powder lips. This was my first time at Avenue 42 and long story short - Chloe is a magician!! I came in with just an idea about the length of hair that I wanted to walk out with and Chloe did the rest! First of all, she squeezed me in within one hour of my call to the salon for an appointment which I really appreciated! I absolutely love Ave 42! I've been going to Maria for the past two and a half years for my eyebrows and she is incredibly talented. She shapes and tints my brows and I get endless compliments on them after I see her. She is truly an artist and I always love my time with her. Just got my haircut here and I can safely say I've found my salon in Richmond! Jane cut my hair and she was great! So helpful in teaching me how to style my new haircut, and she listened to what I wanted and gave me exactly that! I'm so happy with my haircut and I'll definitely be back! The salon puppy, Penny, was also a huge highlight for me!!

First, I always make a snap decision to get a haircut and I really REALLY appreciate the studio giving me an appointment so quickly.
Having moved here from California, I was putting off getting a haircut and hesitant who to trust with my hair. If you're the same as me, Jane is your girl! She perfected the idea I had for my hair and gave me an excellent haircut. Love love love my new hair.

Admittedly, I get my makeup done pretty regularly and I'm not super picky but it's always a little nerve wrecking to try someone new, especially for a special occasion like a wedding, even when they're named a best salon by Brides.
I gave vague directions (smoky eye, a lip that kind of matches my dress) and one reference picture and Natalie NAILED it. It was my first time using airbrush makeup and I honestly may never go back. Not to mention, I didn't need to reapply my lipstick the entire night. I wish I had taken better notes on what products she used!

I have been a social media follower of Avenue 42 Salon for awhile now, especially since I had seen what an amazing job these ladies had done for a girlfriend's wedding. After a horrendous haircut back in April, which left me literally crying as I walked out, I knew I had to find a better salon to start going to.
