Services
Before settling into a career in veterinary medicine, Kathleen studied and worked in a number of vocations. Her experience includes working as a family educator for abused and neglected youth, assistant teacher in special education, and owning and running her own home day care. However, it was not until she was given the opportunity to work as a veterinary technician, that she found her true calling.
Blood work - most blood work is done in house with quick and fast results but we also use an outsource laboratory if needed. If your animal is having a medical emergency please call the office and you will be directed to an emergency line if service is available. Examine the ears for infection, ear mites, allergic reaction and other related health issues.
Veterinary care is crucial and effective for a wide variety of conditions. The following is a partial list of some of the most common. If you do not see your pet's specific condition listed, we encourage you to give us a call so we can personally address your particular concerns. Arthritis is an inflammation of any joint in the body.
Our furbaby Ripley was at the clinic over the weekend being treated for kidney failure. Today she gets to come home, and her kidneys are back to normal. So thankful for the consistent updates, diligence and care Dr. Seward and her staff provided! Seward is amazing. All the people at the clinic are very helpful and accommodating.

GVVC is highly recommended. We have been through the process where our old dog-was sick and unfortunately did not make it. Through the process the GVVC staff was amazing and supportive. After about two-years we brought another puppy into our lives. With that being said, un-known to us we have sick puppy. Again, the GVVC staff have been informative-supportive and professional in helping us get our puppy back to a healthy state.

While enjoying a long weekend at Blue Mesa, our 12 year old Border Collie collapsed late one evening. We called Gunnison Valley Veterinary. Dr. Kathleen saw her immediately despite the holiday and late hour. Dr. Kathleen conducted the most thorough examination and continued with the most compassionate care, staying by her side for the duration. We cannot thank her and her staff enough for the kindnesses shared with our beloved dog, Jazz. If not for a 4 hour drive from our home, we would gladly have Dr. Kathleen see all of our pets.
