Bob and Jeanne Cottle, proprietors of Pleasant Hill Winery, began as home winemakers in the early 1970's. They made several different fruit wines in their respective states of Rhode Island and Wisconsin. The hobby got "out-of-control" after a move to Texas in 1979. A lovely piece of land with rolling hills was purchased in Brenham in 1992.
Planting and building began, and in 1997, Pleasant Hill Winery opened its doors as Texas' 27th commercial winery. Both families' Grandparents came from Italy and made wine. The Zaffiro winepress, once used for the winemaking, is now proudly displayed in the Winery alongside the Corsetti winepress. About a dozen award-winning wines are produced from only Texas grapes.

This tangy white wine was made with a blend of aromatic grapes including Muscat Blanc and Blanc du Bois. Enjoy it chilled with grilled chicken, seafood or any type of salad. This smooth, fruity red wine is a light blend of locally grown Black Spanish and Favorite grapes. It's unoaked and a perfect match for your favorite red sauce pasta dish.

The people here are really friendly and the owner is an ex engineer turned wine maker that is able to talk about the process at a very technical level. It isn't that big of a place but it feels relaxed and the wine tasting is like a little adventure, moreso than at most wineries I have been to. They actually had a white port, something I never even considered would be brought into existence and after tasting it I wondered why I've never tasted it before. I am sure there are some wine snobs shaking their fist and rueing the day, but it was very tasty nevertheless. The most interesting part of the

Best experience for us. We visited this place when they had their grape stamping event going. We enjoyed that event where they offer you picking grapes and later stamping them. It was very new and unique experience for us. Surprisingly once to you are done stamping, you can have them printed on a t-shirts provided by them. It was really a great deal. We also got a chance to taste different types of wine. This a really a nice place to have a fun one day visit.

This is a wonderful little family owned vineyard and winery. We purchased a bottle of the rose and were able to enjoy some of their sweet and red wines, in addition to the bruschetta. Loved the view, food, and wine, but the highlight here was the phenomenal service -- our server Donna went above and beyond, the owner even came out to greet us personally. After trying many vineyards in the Texas wine country and bluebonnet trail, this has been one of our favorites!

We had such a great time. There are really pretty views from the balcony. Wines were yummy. We didn't know we were being smart but hubby chose the sweet tasting and I chose the dry. We each got a different wine and together got to try eight! They have lots of wines and would have loved to try more but we were hungry! Learned a LOT about wine and wine making. Very informative ad open tour. I was a member of a other local winery and never got the treatment we did here. The are so very friendly and welcoming. You feel at home rather than at a winery. We relaxed on the patio to finish our tastings

Awesome! Took the wife to taste some wine after her triathlon in Fulshear. We showed up an hour early for out tour. Jeanne, the owner, was extremely friendly and treated us like long time friends. Diane who gave us the tour was knowledgeable, friendly, loved her job, and more then helpful. The other lady working the tasting room counter was also amazing.
Now for the wine! We both did the tasting using a groupon and got some nice souvenir glasses. Plus the wine was amazing!
We like sweets and enjoyed the 4 offerings, our favorite ended up being the Rose, followed by the Sweet Collina Rossa,

I came in on a Saturday afternoon via Groupon for a tour with a friend of mine. The owner and staff were very accommodating and nice. I can't remember the name of the woman who gave us the actual tour but she was very friendly and knowledgeable. She had a great attitude and i can tell she enjoys doing what she does. After the tour we were escorted to the tasting room and Susan was very helpful in choosing different wines for us. Overall experience was very good and we met some new friends. I'll definitely be back for the grape stomping!

We visited for our 3 year anniversary and to stomp some grapes! Once we checked in we were told we needed to go and pick some grapes! They handed us a basket and some pruning shears to neatly cut the vines for grapes. It was fun and quite an experience! We had some spritzers and sangria while we waited to stomp our grapes. We watched others stop their grapes then stamp their footprints onto white shirts. After our stomping we went inside and had tastings. The inside was so small and had very little room to move. We got 4 tastings each so we got to taste what they had available. We weren't

Pleasant Hills has a fabulously warm, rustic vibe. There's nothing pretentious here, unlike another local tasting room that was beautifully decorated but lacking in customer service and substance (*cough* Saddlehorn *cough*).
The layout of the tasting room was larger than it looked from the outside. There were 3 tasting stations spread throughout. We were a group of 4 and a large bus of roughly 40 people were also doing a tasting. They handled the crowd beautifully and we never felt neglected or overcrowded.
Maddie poured for us and was the perfect combination of informative and charming

Pleasant Hills Winery is as pleasant as it's name implies from the sweet couple that owns it to all the unique trinkets scattered throughout the store. I spent over an hour between wine tastings wandering around and wanting to buy everything I saw. The owner definitely loves purple just as much as I do! At the other end of the store, there is a display case of new and antique corkscrews which show how drastically these devices have evolved over the years. Pretty neat collection! We took a look at their wine bottling area, roamed around the fields, checked out the bluebonnets, and viewed
