We use a laser welder to perform many repairs that just 15 years ago could not have been done. James has over 20 years of experience on the laser. He can safely work around heat sensitive gemstones without risking any damage that a hot torch would cause. The laser has made the repair a restoration.

Services
James is a second-generation goldsmith, who started his love of making jewelry at a very young age watching his father create one-of-a-kind, hand-carved wax models in his studio in Amherst, NH. His father, Fran, in 1993 then moved into downtown Manchester at 1000 Elm St. then to 889 Elm St. where he closed his Manchester location to semi-retire and just work out of his Center Harbor store.
Tates Gallery is 100% dedicated to finding the right diamond for every customer. We do not stock a large selection of loose diamonds. We work with each customer taking the time to search through thousands of diamonds to find the right one for you every time. James has several different large diamond dealers and is able to get your diamond delivered to us, for your inspection.

I can't say enough great things about James and Sarah. I went in with no clue on a gift for my mother for her birthday and left with a customized beautiful necklace. I was doubtful on a quick turnaround (I procrastinated) but they were able to get it to me with plenty of time to get it to my mother. If you are looking for a jeweler that is knowledgeable, reasonable and just genuinely great people to work with, then you will want to stop in here!

Grate craft and jewelry store. They sell stuff from local craftsmen/artists. They also have windows to their shop where they make jewelry and have a 3D printer (pretty sure they had one before they were cool) that the kids love to watch. Owners are both very nice, I think they may even teach classes there.
