We would like to invite you to become a member of the Oregon Academy of Family Physicians (OAFP), the largest physician specialty society in the state of Oregon and the only organization that solely represents family physicians.

As a member of the OAFP you automatically belong asa member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) which represents approximately 116,000 family physicians, family medicine residents, and medical student members, and will receive all the benefits of that membership as well.
Betsy Boyd-Flynn is a transplant to Oregon with a long history of working for medical associations, including seven years with the Oregon Medical Association, serving for five of those years as the Deputy Executive Vice President. She has since worked with a quality reporting and analysis non-profit, and a health IT consulting firm specializing in Medicaid technology infrastructure funding.
The OAFP is governed by a Board of Directors which takes its directions from a Congress of OAFP members. As a statewide organization, we have representatives from around Oregon. Convened when an important decision must be made and there is not time to engage the whole board of directors. Selected at the summer or fall meeting and reports their slate of candidates at the winter board meeting.
ORCA-FM will enhance the ability of Family Medicine residencies in Oregon to improve the health of our communities through training comprehensive high-quality family physicians and fostering leadership and innovation in primary care. The OAFP is facilitating the creation of a residency director's network to support the continued excellence and development of family medicine residencies.
The OAFP is committed to an environment that is equitable, inclusive and diverse for not only its members but for all individuals. We endeavor to be anti-racist in everything we think, speak, and act. Please contact us if you have additional ideas, and/or information you would like to include. We would like to connect individuals interested in medicine to existing family medicine programs.
