Dr. Gerry Ahrens grew up in Louisville, Kentucky and graduated from Louisville Male High School where he succeeded in academics and lettered in three athletic programs. He was the school's starting quarterback, and his football team won the state tournament during his Senior Year when he was named an All-American by USA Today.
We have completed two rounds of braces at Ahrens, one for me as an adult and one for my daughter. Both experiences were exemplary! Drs. Doug and Gerry Ahrens as well as the rest of the staff are very personable and are very good at what they do. For comprehensive orthodontic treatment, most commonly, metal wires are inserted into orthodontic brackets (see dental braces), which can be made from stainless steel or a more aesthetic ceramic material. The wires interact with the brackets to move teeth into the desired positions. Other methods may include invisalign.
