Shalhevet is unlike any other school in the country. Walk the halls or enter our classrooms - you will feel a palpable energy generated by inquisitive and empowered students enjoying thoughtful discourse with their teachers and classmates. Our dedicated faculty strives to challenge the students to think clearly and creatively and to act with integrity and compassion.
Unique to Shalhevet is our emphasis on moral development and our Just Community, which offers students the opportunity to participate in a democratic society. This helps teach our children to talk about critical concepts such as justice, freedom, truth and responsibility. Most schools shy away from confronting these difficult questions - we address them directly and educate the entire child.

Remember when people used to actually talk to each other? Remember when exchanging ideas was celebrated, not shunned? What would it be like if we could stop yelling at one another long enough to actually listen? Every week at Town Hall, our students and teachers come together to do exactly this. Together, they tackle challenging and controversial ideas -- but this isn't debate club.
The Shalhevet Parent Association is our parent-teacher association. It is a group of energetic and committed parents who contribute to the fun and excitement of the Shalhevet community through many volunteer opportunities. We help to enrich and support the academic experience of each and every student.
In a discourse dominated by extremes, we must be radical in our return to moderation and listening. In the Radical Moderation podcast, Rabbi Ari Segal, Head of school at Shalhevet High School, reinvigorates the art of the civilized debate. Tackling difficult subjects with a range of points-of-view, Rabbi Segal explores the simple truth of modern dialogue: It is important to say what we think, but it is equally vital to think about how we say it.
We are profoundly excited to announce The Shalhevet Institute's programming for the upcoming academic year.
