Wilbur "Bill" Lorne, founder, is a Lake Worth native graduating from Lake Worth High School in 1944. He attended Palm Beach Junior College and graduated class president of the American Academy in 1952. The original funeral home on Federal Highway is now the home of Plastridge Insurance Company. Two years after our opening, responding to the growing population of Delray Beach, we built our current funeral home.
Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
Many who have undergone the emotional strain of arranging a funeral within hours of losing a loved one have made the choice to pre-plan their own funeral. Doing so lifts the burden from their loved ones by relieving decision-making pressure at a time of grief and emotional stress. Funeral arrangements are a deeply personal choice.

Today, my parents and I went to make arrangements for a portion of my Gram’s ashes. They had the most beautiful mini urns - I had no idea something like this even existed. Patrick took care of everything and I’m extremely grateful. Thank you so much for being there for my family...you’ll never understand how much we SO appreciate it... ❤️

Any time you need a funeral home, you're not having a good day. My mother passed away last month in Las Vegas, Nevada. She had pre-arranged to be cremated with The Neptune Society. My mother's remains were sent to me via USPS and the wooden box was chipped and split, damaged in transit due to poor packing by The Neptune Society. I was sent a new brass replacement urn.
I called Lorne and Sons for several reasons. First they were local to me and secondly, they are family ownedand operated with a LONG history in Delray Beach.

Today I will entrust my Stepmom to the Lornes family. Over the past 10 years I have used their services for my husband, my father, and two Aunts.
