Inspired by winemaking techniques perfected over centuries in places like France, Italy, and Spain, our award-winning, handcrafted wines are made in small batches at our Butte County winery, from only the finest, carefully selected grapes. First planted in the spring of 2001 by Steve and Creasia Gale, our vines have been a labor of love from the very beginning.
Each of our estate varietals are grown using organic farming practices and are dry farmed, producing rich, concentrated fruit. We prune our vines using the Old World technique of "head pruning" to protect the fruit and yield a fuller, richer flavor. Every vintage is carefully balanced and artfully aged in French oak, making it ready to enjoy upon it's release.

Enjoy a weekend outing just minutes from Chico. Visit our tasting room in Durham and enjoy wine tasting, local food pairings, gifts and more. Located just 7 miles from downtown Chico. Just like each of our wines, our winery and cellar draws it's inspiration from old world building techniques dating back to the late 1800s.
We pride ourselves in crafting wines that are deliciously rich and fruity, with soft tannins and a supple finish-perfect to sip, savor, and share. Our offering boasts a number of unique, and artfully aged wines for you to taste and fall in love with. From our light and refreshing Sauvignon Blanc (perfect for warm summer days) to the rich, earthy, Primitivo, you'll undoubtedly find a flavor to fit.
There's no cost to join and members receive 3 bottles of our wine three times a year. Bottles are shipped right after their release in the spring and fall to ensure the highest quality, as well as a special shipment for the holidays. As a club member, you won't miss a thing. The Gale Vineyards Wine Club ensures that you will get all of the new releases as they come out so you can discover your favorites from each vintage.
Exchange vows in one of our secluded garden areas. Dance and dine with your guests in the shade of our large reception grove, and enjoy one of the most beautiful, unique, and secluded wedding venues in all of Butte County. Private room and bathroom for the bride, two separate areas for the wedding ceremony and reception, tables, chairs, dance floor, and more-all included in the venue cost.
