Services
This process will take approximately 10 minutes. At this time TelComm CU offers consumer accounts only and does not offer business accounts. A deposit of $25 in your savings account makes you eligible for our many convenient services. The $25 must remain in your savings account at all times. Should you ever decide to close the account, those funds will be returned to you*.
We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors which allows you to have a voice in the future of the credit union. Also by not paying dividends to shareholders we can offer competitive loan & deposit rates. We have no outside stockholders-we answer only to our members. So in essence, when you become a member of TCU, you also become our boss.
Many people believe credit unions are accessible only to employees of certain businesses or people of a particular faith or who attend a specific school etc. While this has been true in the past, and remains true of some credit unions today, membership with TCU is open to thousands in the Ozarks!

You may become a member TelComm Credit Union if you live or work (or have family who lives or works) in Greene, Christian, Lawrence, Webster, and Polk counties in southwest Missouri.In 2018, TCU merged with Springfield Catholic Credit Union.
Harry Duewel, a long-time Southwestern Bell employee was instrumental in organizing the credit union-as he quickly saw the inherent value in providing on-site financial services to his fellow telephone employees (and families). As a result, TelComm membership was offered by Southwestern Bell to its employees as a financial benefit-to exemplify the credit union philosophy of "people helping people".
In addition to competitive interest rates, all TCU accounts are federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration (the credit union version of the FDIC). On top of that, TCU offers an additional $250,000 of insurance from ESI (Excess Share Insurance). No other financial institution in southwest Missouri, bank or credit union, offers $500,000 worth of free account insurance!

I financed my first car here a little over a year ago. I since traded that in and got a new car and financed a motorcycle through them as well. They were really helpful and mase it super easy. Being a member is nice and has its rewards for sure with this credit union. Thank you guys so much

This is by far the worst credit union we've done business with! We opened our account there over 8 years ago. We were both in our 50's and attending MSU. We started with a $300 line of credit. Paid that off and never late. As we were rebuilding our credit to move and buy a house, which we did in 2016, we took out a consolidation loan for $2,500. For the past 6 years my credit score has never been less that 725. For the last 2 of those years it's never been under 740 AND we've been able to get more than $180K in credit. TCU has always refused a line of credit increase! We've had NO late payment

TelComm is very out of date when it comes to pretty much everything they do. Everything from their website, to making payments, to receiving communications from them is archaic.
Their website looks and feels like it was created in the 90's. The user experience is very poor, and it makes things that should be simple (tasks like making a payment or just checking your balance) an exercise in patience.
Making payments is also a major pain. You cannot make credit card or any other loan payments on their website if you're using anything other than their bank account. If you have a checking account

Great rates. Great people. Great for our community. This time of year, I'm particularly thankful for my low interest TelComm credit card that gets a lot of use for online gift purchases. I have been a member at Telcomm for 2 years. I came there because I was looking for a financial institution that wouldn't nickel and dime me with fees and that could offer more competitive interest rates on loans. My wife and I just recently got a car loan at Telcomm and couldn't be happier with the result. We got a great interest rate which allowed us to afford the car we wanted without putting us in a financial bind. Dakota was excellent to work with. She was incredibly responsive, patient and true to her word in trying to get us the best rate possible. We're glad we financed through Telcomm

I am absolutely amazed how much better the interest rates are at Credit Unions compared to old fashioned banks. It's been a MUCH better deal. I have saved quite a bit.

I agree with Tony's review below. You will get more friendlier & faster service at the Nixa branch ATM! We are account holders and wanted to cash a $20 check also drawn from Telcomm. The teller was not in the least bit interested in smiling or explaining why it took forever!!! She acted as though my husband was a thief. This is no reflection on the Springfield branches as they are great.

This applies only to the Nixa branch. The Springfield locations are all wonderful and encourage an account at the Springfield locations. I have visited the Nixa TelComm branch and have always had sharp remarks from the employees there and slow service. I was at the Nixa location a few weeks ago, went inside, and no one was ahead of me. Two workers were at the teller stations. It seemed like I had waited five minutes for someone to respond to me. When I did get helped, it was like an attitude of why am I disturbing her. Then I had asked to withdraw money from my account and it was enough to put
