Services
Let me extend a welcome to all as you experience our newly developed website. We've made it our goal to provide you with the latest information about school happenings, including academic, athletic, service, and social events that you and your family would enjoy. We are a vibrant, successful Catholic high school providing young men the opportunity to excel in all aspects of their lives, spiritually, academically and athletically.
We, the family of Brother Rice High School, are a diverse, Catholic Christian community, committed to preparing young men for college and for the process of life-long learning. We educate young men to act manfully in Christ Jesus and to deal wisely with their world in the tradition of the Christian Brothers and the charism of Blessed Edmund Ignatius Rice.
Find your new favorite before or after school activity in our variety of social clubs and activities. Advocacy Club is a group of committed Crusaders who show leadership through social justice and hope to bring about positive change in the world, one student at a time. The club sponsors events like Fear the Beard, the Helping Hands Project, and environmental awareness.
Brother Rice is looking for individuals to serve as a liaison between the Alumni Office, the school, and the graduating classes. We are looking for representatives from every class to stream line communication and broaden our reach. If interested or have any questions contact Matt Kelly. Are you looking for some career guidance or maybe an internship or job?
The support of our student parents is integral to the success of Brother Rice High School. We invite you to get involved through volunteering or expanding your social circle by attending events in support of our Crusaders. We are a social and volunteer service group who assists the Brother Rice administration and community.

My son is a senior at Brother Rice. He began freshman year was put in all honors classes and played football. He became a member of many clubs and received a great education.

Typical good ole boys environment--I was thinking of enrolling my son but I was alarmed at the lack of diversity. I felt they were just interested my son because of his athletic ability. They seemed phony and out of touch.

Parking was very difficult for a game and I got there an hour prior to the game starting. St. Rita direct traffic for big games and make more space available for visitors.

I experienced much unnecessary racism here. All I can say is that I have the greatest friends anyone can ask for. Class of '89

Brother Rice provided the foundation for who I am today. I was guided by teachers who truly cared about the success and well being of their students. Brother Rice is a place where your son will mature and be prepared for life after high school.

Great experience during my time at Rice. Wonderful friendships forged that continue this day. Great well-rounded education that prepared me for college and beyond. Highly recommend being a Crusader.

As a parent I thought that this would be a great school for my son. However, I soon realized that this school is nothing more than a good ol' boys club with a student body that believe bullying is acceptable. They treat staff as if they are disposable and fired several good quality teachers that myself and other parents we're fond of, only to be replaced with tired lackluster veteran teachers there to collect a paycheck. If that wasn't enough I found out by my son that they we're having him dissect cats as part of the curriculum. That was sickening and unnecessary as other private

This is your traditional all boys Irish Catholic high school on the south side. Its tough academically, socially and if you are of color, at times racially too. But it prepares you for real life. Its also what you make it, you work hard, do well, you can get opportuntities (as well as life experience), I later got into a goood college and have had several good jobs, they did their job on 99th & Pulaski.

I have very few fond memories of Brother Rice. When I went there I didn't fit in socially (then it was best to be of Irish descent and from the immediate area -- I don't know if that has changed or not). I received a so-so education, and I would have rather gone to a co-ed school.
