Long term care in a nursing home is not covered by health insurance. That means residents must pay the $8-$10,000 or more per month out of their own savings (unless they have Long Term Care Insurance). A year in a nursing home will wipe out the savings of the majority of Americans and can cause them to lose their homes.
Who would make vital health decisions for you if are unable to yourself? What would you want the doctors to do if you reached a vegetative state or terminal illness they did not consider reversible? These two questions are answered respectively by a Health Directive and a Living Will. A Health Directive appoints agents that are authorized to make health decisions for you either at any time or only if you are too ill to decide on your own.

This man is a crook
who bribed me even though I was/am disabled We didnt need an estate atty--yet he manipulated my naive and inexperienced brother to think we did--solely for his own (financial) purposes. Dont be fooled by this horrible excuse for a man=(supposed Rabbi) /whatever he claims to be. He is out for himself solely.

I used David Goldman to complete a will, advanced directive, and halachic will for myself and my husband a few years ago. He was thorough, clear, and very reasonably priced. Recently, I needed these documents reviewed by an outside attorney with no relationship to David (for an issue unrelated to him) and the attorney commented that he has never seen such a thoroughly designed will. Needless to say, I was thrilled with David's services and will refer others to him.

I had a very positive experience working with David Goldman. David advised me on how to best update a divorce agreement and also reviewed my will. The divorce agreement update was not clear cut but David provided me with helpful advice. He was available for follow up after the initial session and he was very reasonable in charging fees. I felt he gave me sound advice and I did not have to lose my shirt in the process. With the will David was also very helpful in reviewing the particulars on my situation and advising me on the proper formatting of the document. I would highly recommend David as
