Sheila founded Midland Physical Therapy, Inc. in 1995. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1990 from Oakland University and completed her Master's Certificate in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy in 1992. She has been a member of the Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy as well as the American Physical Therapy Association and Michigan Physical Therapy Association.

Not all facilities are created equal and many considerations should be taken into account when choosing who to refer your patients to for physical therapy. Patients are referred for physical therapy by obtaining a written prescription from their physician, dentist or podiatrist. We maintain open and frequent communication with the referring doctors to update them on the course of treatment and progress of each patient.
Although Michigan has passed a 'Direct Access' law, allowing physical therapy to be provided without a referral, most insurance companies in Michigan are still requiring a prescription from your doctor.Currently, we are advising patients to obtain this referral to assure that their insurance will pay for treatment.

If you're looking for a physical therapist who will address YOUR particular issue, Ryan Dietlein is the PT to see. Neck pain which radiates up to my head causing migraines and across the muscles of the shoulder/collarbone area is finally finding relief. Ryan's hands on, manual techniques in attacking the problem area yields relief from the pain.

I can't begin to express how grateful I am to all of you at Midland Physical Therapy! I used to have to go to therapy (a different place) at least every other week to get relief from my back pain. Since seeing Shelia, my back pain lessens each and every day from the exercises given to me. I am now able to play with my kids and do the things I love without hurting. My family has been going to Midland PT for physical therapy for almost 20 years. We have used every therapist on staff; each one has the knowledge and experience necessary to assess the issue and treat the condition. These folks are the absolute best. Caring. Professional. Knowledgeable & Thorough. They have helped me to recover from 2 knee surgeries, 2 shoulder surgeries & a crushed ankle over the past 15 years. The staff at Midland Physical Therapy is wonderful! I’ve been to Midland PT for multiple issues. I’ve had back, knee, shoulder, and elbow issues over the years. Every experience with them has been professional and caring. Sheila listens to my concerns and develops a plan so I may return to the activities I enjoy. Shelly and Brittnee always greet me with a smile and provide helpful answers to my insurance questions. Midland Physical Therapy is the BEST! I have gone there for various issues over the last 20+ years. The physical therapists are trained in manual therapy which is more hands on. This has made a huge difference for me over my experience with traditional PT. Your direct care here is provided by the physical therapists, while knowledgable PT assistants oversee your recovery in the exercise room. All of the physical therapists are professional and caring (I have worked with all of them over the years) and the office staff is also very friendly and helpful.

The absolute best physical therapy in the world. I have been to many other places in my life but none of them compare to Midland Physical Therapy. In fact, often when I find myself with some physical issue I'll fly/drive back from South Michigan or out of state to be seen here. The staff consists of the smartest people who show relentless compassion and care about you until your symptoms have improved and long after. If you want the best PT experience, go to Midland PT.

I have seen Amy for my left hand,left shoulder, back, neck and jaw over a period of several years. I would not go anywhere else. The staff is very professional and very willing to work with you and spend the extra time. When someone says they need physical therapy I stress they need to see Amy or any other of the therapists. My son has also worked with Kristi and was very happy with the care he got.

Sheila has been my family’s PT for years. She helped myself rehab my lower back and has been my daughter’s PT throughout her years when she was an athlete in Midland. She was always available to help mend her injuries so we could get her to recover quicker and get her back in the games. She has a wonderful friendly staff also.
