Services
The Elk City Hotel has been a fixture in Elk City for well over 40 years. In fact, the building that houses part of the Gift Shop and our Victorian Room was built in 1935 after a fire wiped out most of the town. First off, for those a little more savvy about hospitality lingo, we are technically a motel, not a hotel.
Each of our thirteen rooms are unique, offering everything from a simple set of twin beds to a "studio apartment" layout. There is a room to suit every taste and need. All rooms feature private bathrooms and showers, unless otherwise noted. All room feature a phone, Wi-Fi access (remember, this is the middle of nowhere, so our WiFi may be a little slower than you are used to), and satellite TV.
Our front office is located inside the Gift Shop portion of The Elk City Hotel. Our Gift Shop features a huge selection of unique gifts and souviniers. We have screen printed t-shirts and hoodies featuring our logo or prospector (kid through adult sizes); locally hand-crafted items; local history books; postcards; gold nugget jewelry; hand-made knives; huckleberry treats; and, a few necessities in case you forget something.
Nancy's hours are typically Tuesday-Sunday, 6am - 7pm, but we'll let you in on a little secret: if we know you are coming and will be just a tad late, Nancy has been known to say up a bit longer to accommodate our guests. Oh, and she gives Elk City Hotel Guests a 10% discount on meals if you present a room key.

This motel is one of the best I've stayed in! If you're looking for plush and extravagance this isn't for you, if you're looking for a nice clean (very clean) place to stay this is it! Bed was comfy, the fridge was not one of those mini fridges you cant even fit your water in, it was a nice big dryer size! Shower was tiny but oh man the water pressure is amazing!! The people are very nice and go out of their way to make sure you're comfortable. There was even a welcome note with a prayer on it which I loved! I would definitely stay there again!!! And the gifts shop has a nice little section of

Only place In town. Internet pictures a bit of a misrepresentation. My travel companion asked if it was photo-shopped. Building has survived one to many winters. Room was very small. Bathroom will only hold one person at a time. Only a double bed. Anything bigger and you couldn't open the door. Haven't slept with spouse in double in 25 years. It was a bit snug. Worst was NO hot water. NO SHOWER. Ugh! Office closed. Metal shower very small and rusted. Not the most inviting anyway. Big group next door. Partied in the parking lot way past what should be quiet hours. Positive - It was clean. Cooled
