Our doctors at Northland Animal Hospital thoroughly examine your pet during each wellness exam. Your pet will be checked from head to tail to ensure they are healthy. We will address any questions or concerns during the exam about your pet's health that you may have. If your pet is sick or injured, it is best to call during our regular office hours; if it is after hours dial 218-749-5206 and your call will be forwarded to the on-call veterinarian. We work with Affiliated Emergency Veterinary Service of Duluth. At certain times we may be unavailable after hours, so clients are encouraged to call them, especially after 10 pm on weekdays and Saturdays after 12 PM.
We utilize digital radiology and ultrasonography, which allows our clients access to the expert interpretation of veterinary radiology specialists without ever having to leave the Iron Range. Our older German Shorthair, Heidi, suddenly was not eating or drinking and became very listless and weak. We became very concerned and called the clinic a few hours after it closed.

Back in March of this year, we'd brought in my cat Sylvanas for an emergency visit after she'd collapsed and lost function of her rear legs. We found out she had to be put down unfortunately. The staff there… were nothing short of amazing, seeing us right away, so gentle and kind both with her and with myself. We wanted to bury her, but the ground was too frozen still, so they offered to hold her free of charge until spring. She now has a little memorial spot in the backyard. Their staff and vets are so great to the humans and animals. They take the time to explain things so you understand, and answer any questions you might have. Pricing is better than others I’ve been to in this area. The best thing about them though is that they leave a slot or two open every day for issues that arise unexpectedly. Where other vets… book their schedules solid and exploit you financially in an emergency they take a more practical/caring approach. I really appreciate it as I’ve had a few emergencies this last year and they have been able to accommodate me every time

I have had dogs and cats as family members my entire life. As a child, my dad brought our dogs to Dr. Aluni when he operated a small veterinarian office in Aurora - outside of his practice in Virginia. As I moved on outside of my folks roof, I tried other veterinarians in the area to only, what I see now looking back, a successful yet mediocre sense of what I call good health in today's standards. They are the best. They obviously genuinely care about their animal clients (and their people too)! 2 years ago we got a terminal lung cancer diagnosis along with a bacterial abscess on my previous dog with our old vet. Brought her to NAH for a second opinion and it was a Hallmark case of Blastomycosis and they suspected it off the x-rays and info I had sent over from the other vet's office before they even saw her. Brian did a fine needle aspirate from her lung because he knew she didn't have any time to spare waiting for the urine at test to come back. The blasto was prevalent in her lungs as
