Annie's Flowers
From humble beginnings as a backyard hobby 20 years ago, "Annie's" has evolved into a 2 -acre "growing" nursery here in Richmond, CA (across the Bay from San Francisco). We provide plants to about 60 independent retail nurseries and open our doors for retail shopping here at the mothership, 9-5, 7 DAYS a week!

For fellow Plant-a-Holics living far away, we also offer our plants by mail order. Here at "Annie's, " we grow most of our plants the old fashioned way - from seed - in the wind, rain and sun (no greenhouses), so your plants are already "hardened off, " healthy and strong when you take them home.
Services
We grow all our plants on site from seeds, plugs or our own cuttings, right here next to the San Francisco Bay. We do not use genetically modified or engineered seeds and we do not apply growth hormones or use systemic pesticides. Although we are not certified organic, we have worked to research and implement the least toxic, organic or naturally occurring alternative to manage pests and fungus.
In 30 years of gardening by mail, I never, never! received a shipment of plants that were this beautiful and healthy. I just had to go back to your website and order again from some of the items that I had placed on my Wish List. You will have much more of my business in the future. Everything arrived promptly and I can tell you that your shipping system is the best of all the plant mail order companies.
Wouldn't you love to see your garden in full and glorious bloom this Spring with big healthy plants all-a-flower, swaying in the breeze?. So much to go through and learn. A big native area and such a large selection you could bring a corgi and walk them through all the rows and both be satisfied. Lots of info mostly rarities, so not what you'll find at home Depot unless there's a super rare color. Richmond staple, and supplies nurseries all over.

Had a great experience at Annies today. I love the descriptions on all of the flowers and the fact that they have a large variety of native plants that would thrive well in my clay soil. While I was helped by multiple people, I think it was Sarah who chatted with me about how to work with and amend clay soil and was very kind to me when I was checking out.
Thanks Annies, will with be back!

I’ve ordered 12+ plants from here and all are thriving! The best part is the thorough descriptions of each type of plant so you can ensure you choose what will do best in your own garden.

An outdoor plant lover's dream. Can be overwhelming how many plants there are to choose from. A great place to spend the afternoon. Parking lot might be slightly limited at peak times, but there's street within short walking distance.
Staff is knowledgeable and helpful, speedy checkout even on busy days. Everything is well labeled and price is color coded.
Tip: Snap a photo of your plants "description" card or take a catalog for care instructions. To save water and avoid buying a plant that won't be happy in your area, check the zoning or just look for labels like "clay tolerant, drought tolerant

The nursery that feeds so many of the Bay's best nurseries -- how can you go wrong? On your first visit be sure to find an employee when you walk in so they can give you a how-to about finding what you're looking for.
If you are not in the mood to browse the aisles and aisles of wonderful plants, you can check out what they have online ahead of time and make a list for a more directed shopping trip. If you're looking for indoor plants you might want to look elsewhere, because Annie's is pretty much all outdoor.
Everyone who works there is extremely knowledgeable and always willing to help, so

Love this place! Annie's propagates their own plants. They have all sorts of California natives, special succulents and drought tolerant plants. Order online or travel, it's a fun place to visit, particularly if you garden.

Wow! There are so many plants. Every plant has a photo and full description. You can make a well informed decision. The plants are very reasonable. You are not going to find the same plants that you do at the big stores- you find wild and unique plants.
You will get lost! In the best possible way. If you cannot make it you can order online (I did probably 6 or 7 times before visiting). And the staff are everywhere and so helpful. Thank you Annie, I am so excited for my yards!

This is my happy place. The nursery mostly offers plants in 4 inch containers making it easy to re-plant in your own yard. Many rare varieties. Be sure to attend their spring party!

Easy for me to find my happy place here. If you go there do some homework online first. This is not a big box nursery, this is the real deal. Your experience will be better if you have some idea as to what you are looking for.
Driving by the reservoir on San Pablo Dam road on my way there is relaxing but if you can't get there in person, Annie's ships their plants right to your door. I have been shopping there online and in person for a least ten years and would recommend this nursery to any one that cares about gardening.
