Chicago Academy High School

Chicago Academy High School is housed on the third floor of the former Wilbur Wright Junior College building, which was opened in 1934. The building was completed in 1930 and originally served as a junior high school until 1933, when it was converted to an elementary school and high school branch for two years.

Chicago Academy High School seeks to create a challenging learning environment that encourages high expectations for success through developmentally appropriate instruction that allows for individual differences and learning styles. CAHS is committed to providing academic and social excellence in a positive and supportive culture to produce productive citizens prepared for a global society.

Chicago Academy High School is a community of learners contributing to the world through the power of education. We have a dual mission: to provide a supportive college preparatory environment for students and a collaborative mentoring experience for aspiring teachers. We share the core values of compassion, commitment, integrity, and reflection, which we call the Learner's Life.

Chicago Academy High School is a future-focused, comprehensive high school that empowers young people to be intrinsically motivated, collaborative agents of change who will design creative solutions in our evolving world. We fulfill this vision by fostering a positive school culture in which students feel that they are part of a family.

AUSL (Academy for Urban School Leadership) is a Chicago nonprofit school management organization that creates schools of excellence by developing highly effective teachers and transforming educational outcomes for students in the lowest performing schools. AUSL opened the Chicago Academy High School in 2004 as a training academy.
