Founded in 2009 by Owner Esthetician Katherine Goldman, Stript Wax Bar is a boutique dedicated to the art of waxing. Katherine did not want to provide the same lack luster experience like other waxing salons, at Stript Wax Bar it is all about ambiance and giving women and men a clean comfortable environment where they can receive the most professional and advanced hair removal services in the industry.

Came back here for waxing service--disappointed that they are now closed! I walked down Union St & found Natalie Blair Skin Studio at 1738 Union Street. She gave me a 20% discount because I came from Stript Wax Bar. Was really happy with her work and have already booked online with her for my next appointment. It's tough when your go-to place closes...but am happy that I found a new one!

All locations seem closed at this point. The phone lines still have the VM, but I doubt anybody is checking. The owner (Katherine Goldman) never returned the money to her loyal customers who had a membership for years and had unused visits worth hundreds of dollars. Not even that, they lied about the owner getting back to us (I called a couple of times and both the Oakland and SF location said the same time like a robot, "She will get back to everybody and you will get reimbursed"). I would have understood if she found a way to reach out and say she needed more time. Sad that she had

I made an appointment online (for which I put down a credit card) and I drove into the city for it. And they were not there. No lights on, door locked, etc etc. No email or text canceling my appt. I called and left a message. Waited for 15 minutes. No one showed. Needed the wax for a trip and I leave tomorrow. SO frustrating!!!!

I scheduled a Brazilian wax and a brow maintenance. During the brow maintenance, they removed the majority of my brow hair and also left them uneven. They didn’t apologize and I rescheduled the Brazilian wax for the following day. 45 minutes prior to my appointment, they cancelled my appointment.
The services were unacceptable and the staff members were incredibly rude. I would strongly recommend going to a different wax bar - there are several in Cow Hollow and the Marina

I went in for a brazilian wax today. I was disappointed when I walked in the door. I discovered that the place looked run down and not as clean as usual. That was just the beginning of my disappointment. The person that did my wax did a terrible job. During my wax, she ripped wax off without giving me a heads up each time she removed the wax and rushed through it. At one point, she did not even hold the skin. She also complained of being tired. At home, I noticed that there was still hair left in different areas. She did a half-assed job. Never returning again.

Eight years later and I'm still coming to Stript Wax Bar in Oakland for my Brazilian and full face/brows. The staff is always super friendly, the place is immaculate and I couldn't ask for a better experience. I don't have a regular waxer but I've had good experiences with Ruth, Sarah and Christiana.

I finally found my new regular waxing place :) so excited! This feels like the first place in SF that totally listened to what I wanted and needed and didn't overcharge me for services. The water even told me that my hair wasn't quite long enough for what I ordered so she wouldn't charge me, but to come back in a week to get everything finished up. Thank you team!

Tatyana is amazing. I've been seeing her for about two years now and I can't imagine going to anybody/anywhere else. She's a true gem! She makes the waxing experience, which isn't the most pleasant thing, very comfortable and painless compared to other waxes I've had. She also knows a lot about waxing pre and post care.
Also, Stript is super clean and they always offer me something to drink while I wait in the lobby area.

I love the environment: champagne, relaxing music, nicely decorated, etc.... Stript serves it up if you're game for a fun Saturday with your ladies.
If you're just here to get a monthly wax, try elsewhere. Stript is extremely expensive for their offering, and you could easily get the same service (just as clean) at places like European Wax Center for much less.

I used to go to the original Stript Wax Bar off Polk St when it was underneath the hair salon but now I've been going to the Marina location. The services are great but I think it's way overpriced. I used to pay $50 for a Brazilian but now it's about $70. There are definitely other wax bars that have just as good of a service for much less.
