Acupuncture Pacifica
Acupuncture Pacifica is now located in Valparaiso, Indiana providing quality alternative healthcare tailored to your individual needs. Please note that my Hawaii practice is now officially closed. Please feel free to peruse my site and learn more about me and the benefits of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

I believe that you will find, as I have, that Oriental Medicine has profound benefits and can help enrich your life in ways you never imagined. Each treatment begins with a consultation to ascertain your state of health. By taking the time to chat about your issues and concerns every time, we are able to more strongly track progress in your health goals and catch more subtle issues before they flare up.

Oriental Medicine is a complete medical system that has been around for over a century. Sterile, single-use, disposable needles are inserted along pathways, called meridians that create an energetic network for our bodies. Diagnosis in this medicine is determined by an extensive health interview along with evaluation of the pulse, examination of the tongue, and palpation of the hara, or abdomen.
I came to acupuncture after an exhaustive journey with several major health problems. I landed at the Mayo Clinic and even their help felt unsatisfactory. I began a search for a sustainable healthcare model that would not only help me to recover but to maintain and prevent once I reached my goals.
One of the best words in the Hawaiian language is Ohana. By it's simplest definition, it means house. Historically speaking, it was an attached unit onto a house for the mother-in-law of the family. In Hawaii, family is of vital importance. Overtime, the definition of Ohana expanded to mean a person's entire support system.
One of my instructors said when needling, we needed to visualize and strive to be a Full Moon Over a Still Pond. In my search for a name for my practice, I kept this centered in my mind. This is where Pacifica comes from. Yes, I lived on the Pacific Ocean, but it appealed because of the very meaning of the word-peaceful or calm waters.

I couldn't recommend Cory's abilities as a professional enough. She worked on assessing my very complicated, seemingly unrelated symptoms and emotional state with extreme care and sensitivity. She was able to dissect a myriad of issues, provide treatment and most importantly give me back hope and encouragement that healing would be possible. From the first session together, she gave me relief from severe chronic pain, began a comprehensive assessment and started to create a plan for my recovery.

Before working with Cory I had received diagnosis and treatments from surgeons, chiropractors
