Services
Prepare to be transported: to another time and place. Nestled in the renowned Old Southwest area of Reno is the Stone House Cafe. Three generations of Abowds have grown local restaurants into a successful hospitality brand recognized throughout Northern Nevada and the Stone House Cafe is the latest creation.
The Stone House Cafe sits where one of Reno's first businesses began. It was 1876 when the town was newly established and Arlington Avenue was just a dusty horse and buggy lane. The 40 acres surrounding the structure began as a nursery with over 80 varieties of roses, berries and fruit trees. At the time, Washoe Valley had a flourishing apple and berry economy, shipping produce throughout the West.

Updating my 5 star review down to 2 stars. Everything I said below is mostly true except their service is consistently rude and unhelpful. The wait is always huge and when you are actually able to snag one of the greeters, they are never friendly. It’s impossible to make a reservation because they never answer the phone, so you get stuck waiting forever. Once you are able to be seated and eat the experience is good and the food is amazing, which is why I still go, but he terrible greeting situation mostly keeps me away because it’s such a bad experience every time.

On our way to South Lake Tahoe we stopped by here for breakfast.
There is no line because it is a weekday and we get to sit outside. Plenty of outdoor seating and tall trees so providing good shades.
We had the Tuscan scramble and pork chilaquiles and both are tasty and good portion size.
Will come back when we visit Reno next time.

High quality, fresh and delicious food. The restaraunt is small and homey with some really interesting/strange art pieces throughout. The staff was awesome, fast and attentive even though they were super busy on a Sunday morning. The kids and I really enjoyed it here. Super expensive though... $100 for just the 3 of us.

Second time in two weeks we have eaten here. The food is amazing! I love the waffles the most. I had a great salad and the waitress was very accommodating to give me a different dressing and extra Marbleade for the shrimp. Today we had breakfast and it was so good. I had chicken fried steak and my husband had eggs Benedict with salmon. Very nice portion.
