Dr. Sharon A. Abramowitz, MD
I'm board certified in psychiatry & addiction medicine, and am integrative medicine fellowship trained. I provide individual & couples psychotherapy, lifestyle medicine, complementary medicine and, if needed, judicious use of psychopharmacology, and addiction treatment. If you are already working with a therapist or an alternative medicine clinician, I can provide co-treatment.

If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions or stressors, unexplained mind body symptoms, trauma, health behavior problems (including addictions) or these issues, I would like to help. I am a psychotherapist, double-board certified psychiatrist, and an integrative medicine fellowship trained physician, whose approach is based on mindfulness, empathy and respect for each person's unique path.
Services
I use an integrative health based approach on mind-body-spirit-cultural integration and a mindfulness, holistic, trauma-informed psychotherapeutic orientation. Understandably 'holistic psychiatry' may sound like an oxymoron. But I believe that good psychiatry practice treats the whole of who you are: mind, body, spirit and cultural position.
I provide psychotherapy, integrative medicine therapeutics, judicious medication management, health behavior and lifestyle counseling, coaching, and mindfulness support. My therapeutic philosophy is empathic and interactive, analytic and flexible with what you need. Our work will be based on a collaborative psychotherapy that will consider the whole of you and your health.
My goal is to meet you where you're at with your alcohol and drug use, or other problems, such as, gambling, sexual addiction, compulsive eating and compulsive internet use. I am board certifed by the American Board of Preventive Medicine in Addiction Medicine. Addiction medicine is now an American Board of Medical Specialties certified medical specialty.
What is the usual and customary rate (UCR) for initial assessments, psychotherapy, medication visits, or evaluation & management visits combined with psychotherapy?. Out-of-network reimbursement is often higher than you may have expected (50-80% of allowable rates). If you don't seek insurance reimbursement, your treatment information remains completely confidential.
