Services
In 2006, Cleveland Equine Clinic (CEC) was formed from the merging of multiple practices from Northeast Ohio into a single clinic and ambulatory practice. Today, CEC provides high quality ambulatory, inpatient, emergency, medical, surgical, and diagnostic services to serve the equine industry.
Expanding on the popular Randall Veterinary Hospital facility previously located in Warrensville Heights, in 2010 Cleveland Equine Clinic constructed a superior new facility in Ravenna featuring state-of-the-art diagnostic tools like the standing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) unit.CEC has since flourished with adding a number of talented new veterinarians to our staff and is now based exclusively from the Ravenna location.

We are located at 3340 Webb Road in Ravenna, Ohio, and conveniently found near major highways and the turnpike with easy access for our in and out of state clients. Situated on 30 acres in a quiet rural setting, the facility opened its doors in 2006. The clinic encompasses a new hospital and referral center which includes a full surgical suite with recovery, 19 stalls, pastures and an indoor arena.
No, you don't need to have a referral to be seen by us. We see any horse whether it has been referred to us by another vet or is coming to us as their primary vet. What do I need to bring if my horse is referred to the hospital for an emergency/hospitalization? If your horse is coming to us for an overnight stay you don't need to bring anything unless you want them to have blankets or a specific feed.
Cleveland Equine Clinic has a fleet of fully equipped veterinary trucks that operate day and night to meet client's needs. Doctors and their assistants cover a wide geographic area. Our clients range from top level competition sport horses to pleasure horses to retired pasture companions and each one receives the finest care and service that we can provide.
Starting as yearlings, each horse should have (at minimum) annual examinations to determine the health of the oral cavity. Some horses require more frequent floating than others to remove sharp enamel points. Factors that can affect this include age, absence of opposing teeth, and asymmetries of the jaws or dental arcades.

Thank you to Dr.Berthold and the whole team who worked along side for my lameness exam with my horse! I did have a lameness exam done by my local vet but wasn't very happy with them. So I hauled my horse in to have them look at him! Stalls and exam areas where clean. Whole staff was super friendly and never felt judge. They did a pretty thorough lameness exam and did find a issue. Thank you everyone !

I was extremely impressed by Dr. Sasha Hill and her team when they evaluated my horse, Doco, who has been having issues. Dr. Hill performed a thorough examination and was here for a good 2 hours. I could tell Dr. Hill and her team genuinely cared about my horse and they all have a passion for horses. They were extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend Cleveland Equine!

If I could give zero stars I would. They treated my mare that I eventually had to have put to sleep. After this I set up a payment plan with them and still got multiple calls asking for payments and I had to keep giving them my information. Then they proceeded to call me a few weeks ago and left an extremely rude voicemail about me not paying my bills (I wish I could attach it because it was the most unprofessional and rude message I have ever received from anyone). The message basically stated that I need to pay my bills or I’m going to collections and how dare I not pay my bills after they

I have never been treated so poorly. I asked why the charge to email xrays and the girl was extremely rude, sarcastic and unprofessional. As a client I have never been treated this badly. Maybe if I had been rude or sarcastic to her the treatment would have been justified, but that was not the case. This was not the first time the office staff has been less than kind but it is the last. They should consider getting some better customer service oriented people in their office because all of the bad reviews seem to be related to this issue.
