OK Cafe
Today it serves more customers than any other full service restaurant in Georgia. People come to the OK Cafe for the quality of the food and the sort of menu your grandmother would make for Sunday dinner, if you had a grandma who could cook that is. Mix in an uncle who was a short order cook at the best grill in town, and you've got the family recipes that make the OK Cafe so popular.

Add to the family tree an aunt with a sense of fun who created an art-filled environment, and it's easy to see how this ongoing party, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, became the home-away-from-home for so many. Lauded by the likes of MONEY, FORBES, SOUTHERN LIVING, and LADIES HOME JOURNAL, to name just a few, the OK Cafe continues to hit the mark in southern hospitality and firmly represents why the south has risen again.

Second time eating here. Short wait , signed in upon arrival.
waitress seemed rush which was fine I’m sure they are short staff like everywhere else. Food came out & the presentation was awful. And a little bland. I ordered salmon croquettes and my husband ordered the crispy chicken , both dishes were $15+ and looked like they should not have been more than $10. The food on the Togo side looked visually more appealing. I probably won’t be returning anytime soon.

Not only is the food terrific, the portions generous , the price reasonable and the wait staff friendly and efficient, it is a fun place to visit. I have eaten here many times. I travel a lot and I often book my return flight to allow me to arrive here for lunch or dinner on the way home to Kennesaw. I recently took my boyfriend here for his first visit. It was exactly 12pm and there was a long wait. We found seats at the counter (which I have done before). We loved it. I think I prefer it if there are only one or two of you. We were both very entertained by observing the cook staff and the "

This has been one of my favorite Atlanta area restaurants since I first ate there in the late 80s. The food is always excellent and the atmosphere is always comfortable.

I've been here a few times before for lunch and I had great meals. I recently came for breakfast and was very disappointed. This place is known for larger portions and what I got was... not. Two eggs with a very small portion of home fries - it was very sad. Everyone at the table got the sad portion of home fries. I mean, I don't really get it... potatoes aren't expensive. I would expect about 3-4 times the amount of what we got. Otherwise, all was good and tasty. Was also disappointed to find no milk alternatives for coffee. Service was OK. I just really think they can do better

This is a renew from my 2010 review. I guess back then I was simply being a cheap...well you know. I have to say I have actually eaten hear several time since my 2010 review. So I guess your wondering, hmm what brings him back. That my friends would be their chicken fried steak. Sadly at most restaurants CFS is processed and not the real deal. I can honestly say theirs is the real deal. That couple with fresh veggies make it a awesome choice. Every time I go the staff is always friendly and attentive. I also enjoy setting at the bar and watching the kitchen staff as they prepare the dishes. I

A shabby looking building from outside had me fooled. Inside exudes an unexpected eclectic cool funkiness. I can't quite point my finger, nose or mouth, to it, but I'm compelled. I like.

I did not realize until last night that the OK Cafe serves beer and wine. They offer just one Chardonnay and one Merlot, each $7.99, but the friend who was with me was happy to see that on the menu. We enjoyed the shaved onion rings before our meal of salmon croquettes. We enjoyed all the sides, but the kale salad was especially good.

The food here never disappoints. It's on my list of places we can take the in-laws when they are in town and know for sure that they will have something on the menu that will please everyone. We've even ordered to-go from here and everything arrived hot and fresh the way that we ordered. The food is well prepared and always fresh.

I thought it was just another chain, so my expectations were not high. Depending on the time of day expect a little wait. The wait staff is amazing. Laura is on top of things, very kind and considerate. The food is really good and fresh. No GMO, no hormones no nothing. Juices are freshly squeezed and coffee is fresh brewed. People here are friends with the staff and vise versa. That's so refreshing. I ordered the BLT on sourdough. OMG the fries heavenly. Crisp on outside and hot and soft on inside. Yummmm my husband got the sausage and eggs with grits and biscuits. Says they were delicious

I've been to OK Cafe at least four times now and they are CONSISTENT! Even on days when they're busy, wait times are always super reasonable and they often seat you faster than predicted. The servers are always incredibly helpful and friendly, and they come by to check on you often. The food comes out so fast, sometimes we don't even get the chance to finish our appetizer before our meals come! We always order off the Blue Plate Specials menu that they give out during dinner hours. We haven't tried their breakfast yet but we're hoping to soon! I get the pot roast, my best

This is a buffet-style restaurant. We were just driving through and was hoping to grab something small to go. I had to go to another nearby place. The food looked good and fresh with a huge selection. I would love to come back when we have more time.

Not my favorite delivered meal. The rotisserie chicken was very dry but I loved the mashed potatoes and gravy. The kale salad was also very yummy. It had walnuts, cranberries and sliced apple pieces with poppyseed salad dressing. A delicious mixture. I wished I just had a large order of the kale salad and mashed potatoes excluding the protein. My husband ordered the baked wings with basket of fries. The fries were perfectly crispy and tasty. The wings on the other hand, were dry and tasted like they were yesterday's wings that were reheated. This meal was average but not with average prices

Will That Be Meatloaf With A Side of Covid?
Tonight two of us ate at the very crowded OK Cafe - first time in awhile. I was troubled to see that the manager, hostess, several servers and the guy who dishes up the food and dispatches it to the servers were all unmasked. Our waitstaff was, but I felt like I had dropped in on a super spreader event.
I inquired about the mask policy and was told it was strictly voluntary.
If you are Covid casual, this post is not for you. But if you are among the immunocompromised, or are Covid cautious, I've find another place to dine for now.

The name says it all - it's just OK.

The food is just OK.
The service is just OK.
The entire experience is just OK.

This feels like a restaurant that should be a lot better than it is.

But I guess when you call your restaurant the OK Cafe, you're not really aiming that high to begin with.

If you show up and there's a long wait, save yourself the disappointment of just an OK meal....because that's all you'll get if you stay.

I wish this place was better. We could use a great diner in Buckhead. This isn't it.

I don’t like leaving this review but I must be truthful. This restaurant is an all time favorite of mine because it’s been here forever, the atmosphere is really cool and my family has good memories here and the service is great. Today we ordered two identical meals, country fried steak, Waldorf salad and sweet potato. The cornbread wasn’t good at all, it tasted very floury. The steak was thin and overcooked underneath a lot of breading which fell off. Waldorf salad was good. Saved the potato for later it looked good. I could have had a better meal for less somewhere else. I wanted it to

Love their curbside service. I ordered from the Publix parking lot behind the restaurant. By the time I pulled into a parking spot it was less than 10 minutes before I was back on the road.
It was Sunday so pot roast seemed the perfect choice. Tasted like home made.
I choice OK Cafe because I saw strawberry shortcake on the menu so that was an easy choice for dessert. The strawberries in syrup was good but the cake was not so good. Maybe it wasn't fresh but I was disappointed. I will say the vanilla ice cream that came with it was delicious.
Great location since it's right off

Lousy service, overpriced, can't pack a proper to-go order/left out items. Manager basically told me to get lost when I told her I was unhappy with the one piece of chicken that cost me $15.50! Food was mediocre at best.

Im impressed. This is my first 5 star review. I really enjoyed the meal and it's worth the hype.

The venue: it's a American/southern diner. Ready, casual dining experience. In previous reviews, there are mentions of a confederate flag, I didn't see it, I saw a historic georgia flag.

The service: seated promptly and greeted upon entry.

The food: stick to your ribs, take a Togo plate, and have a afternoon nap. At first I thought it was going to be like a old school piccadilly or K & w cafeteria but it's so so so much better. This is where southern comfort food went to

I have passed this restaurant a million times and never had as desire to check it out. However, my beau wanted to dine on some home cooked food and this girl was not in the mood to be cooking! After a quick Google search I found this place!

We parked at the back of this restaurant which is the to go area that includes a bar that is priced by the pound. We had to walk through the restaurant to be seated. We were quickly seated at a window table for two. Our server came over promptly. She lacked a personality but she got her job done.

I ordered a veggie plate, and the boo ordered a pork chop

This restaurant has a very hometown feel to it. The servers are extremely friendly!

I got the coffee which was good. For breakfast I got the ham and cheese omelet with home fries, and a biscuit.
The portions are VERY large so keep that in mind.

My friend got the biscuits and gravy which is also something I wish I would have gotten. It comes with 2 biscuits and is smothered with gravy sausage.

This place has a lot of fun and abstract art in it which makes it fun.

The pricing is also really cheap for the portions that you receive. We would come back to this restaurant.
