A passion for excellence has been a constant driving force for Dr. James Childress. Attending UC Davis he graduated with High Honors with a BA in Zoology and was elected to both Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi national honor societies. He expanded his outlook on life by spending his junior undergraduate year studying abroad in West Africa and was also a member of the Varsity tennis team at UCD.
At James Childress, DDS, Inc. we provide excellent preventive care, including Exams, Dental Cleanings, Dental Hygiene, Oral Cancer Screening, Mouthguards & Nightguard, Fluoride Treatment, Sealants, and digital x-rays. Early detection of dental problems is essential to gain optimal oral health. The American Dental Association recommends that you follow a schedule of twice yearly cleanings and exam.
Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it is both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.
The American Dental Association (ADA) recommends dental visits at least twice per year. Regular exams and professional cleanings can help to ensure optimal oral health. At James W. Childress D.D.S. Inc., our dental team consistently provides high-quality dental cleanings and thorough preventive exams.
Davis Dentist, Dr. Childress recommends that you brush your teeth at least twice per day and floss daily. This helps prevent tooth decay, periodontal disease, and other oral health issues. There are additional ways to help keep teeth strong and healthy. Toothpastes and mouth rinses with fluoride are available over-the-counter.

Where has this dentist been all my life? He is the most friendly, funny, personable, caring doctor dentist ever. I was worried about my child seeing a dentist and put it off for way too long.
My daughter said when can I see Dr. Jim again. That's how amazing he is. She can't wait to go to get her teeth cleaned. Yes. You read right. She can't wait to go back!
Well, how did this visit happen? Our daughter woke up in pain. And this pain in her cheek did not go away. We had to get an appointment and they found time for us. Very patient, friendly, fast, super clean and careful

I am his new patient. I saw him once before in September. But when I lost my front tooth last week, he could see me as soon as possible.
He immediately put a temporary tooth without causing any pain. I am so happy to find he does implant himself. I have made an appointment for the procedure. He is so gentle and kind. I highly recommend. Also all his staff are very friendly and nice.

Dr. Childress always makes me feel like I am the most important patient. He is a great listener, friendly, and extremely professional. I feel well taken care of at Dr. Childress's office. Great cleaning, and they remember I don't like the 'grit' of polishing, so they skip that. I appreciate the mouth cancer check and this time opted for the special light device that gets a better look than the eye alone. All clear! Thanks again, folks, and I'll see you in six months.

One of the best dental visits I've ever had, and I'm not generally a fan.
His team was thorough, and explained everything they were doing so that I understood exactly what they were looking for. Unlike some dentists that can seem like they're making up problem areas, he showed precisely that he was looking for. Their practices and equipment are all unique and modern.
The dental hygienists are also great. They are gentle and communicative.
Highly recommended!

Lori has been my hygienist for over 20 years!!!
She is gentle yet thorough . She never shames me when I fail to floss regularly . Instead she encourages my to try harder. She provides excellent dental care and always spends the entire hour with me - never making me feel rushed. She is very knowledgeable and takes the time to address all of my concerns. She is definitely the BEST hygienist around!!!!

Best dental experience I've ever had. Childress and the entire staff are also so kind and understanding and personable and friendly and enjoyable and intelligent and so many other wonderful things. I was always explained all of the procedures and everything else so that I was actually aware of what was being done to me. I felt actually cared for and not at all cheated or anything else you often feel at a dentist. There was no pain or discomfort and it was consistently made sure that I was comfortable and well sought after. I'm amazed by the staff and their care and HIGHLY recommend this

I've been going to Dr. Samer Alassaad (known as "Dr. Samer" for over a year now. I've been to a lot of dentists in 60 years. Dr. Samer is absolutely the best I've ever seen. Scrupulous, hygienic, kind, careful, very, very, modern practices. He offers "conscious sedation", nitrous oxide, and local anesthesia. He uses a very fancy camera to make records of the mouth. Digital xrays are immediately added to your digital record and he will share these with you and discuss. His assistant is quiet, friendly, and very open to hearing the patient's concerns

I generally don't like Dentists because of my past experience. However, I had so far very good experience with Dr. Alassaad. During one of my visits a front tooth came off, which was loose for some time. He did not propose the most expensive treatment, a bridge or an implant, but he simply proposed to put it back at the same visit. It took about 20 minutes. It was my own tooth. It feels very comfortable. I can eat and chew normally, looks great and was very inexpensive. And that is what I like about any profession: do the least painful and least expensive but best for the customer. This was
