The Covell Family Dental team. We each bring our unique personalities, experiences and skills to create a strong team to best serve our patients. Dr. Andrew Kim is a Davis resident and California native who grew up in Southern California and attended UCLA for his undergraduate degree.
He went on to dental school at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and fell in love with Northern California.Dr. Kim has over ten years of experience as a dentist and has worked both in private practice and at a non-profit community clinic for the last few years.

At Covell Family Dental, our goal is that you have a trustworthy and comfortable dental experience at every visit. Dr. Kim and the dental team are dedicated in keeping up with best practices for all procedures through continuing education courses and lectures. Flu season is back so of course I got sick. Finding a health center that doesn't charge an obscene amount of money to be seen is always a struggle. It was the closest, same-day appointment center I found on Yelp. They take several types of insurance, including mine which only charged a $10 copay. They even have their own app where you fill out your symptoms and payment information right there.
Covell Family Dental welcomes the whole family and patients of all ages. Dr. Kim and his team believe that successful oral health starts with good habits starting at a young age and are dedicated to the dental health of the youngest of patients. They understand that children can be anxious (as well as their parents), and try to provide a comfortable environment so the child can feel safe and at ease.
Our natural teeth are always worth preserving, but there are times when, due to decay, trauma, or periodontal disease, teeth can be lost. Missing teeth can affect your ability to chew, leading to nutritional deficiencies. You may find that your ability to speak clearly is affected as well. Gaps in your smile can also lead to a shifting of your facial structure, or sagging of the face.

I have tried a few of the popular Dental offices in town and none have been able to match the service and professionalism of Dr. Kims office at Covell Family Dental. The entire staff is friendly and over the top helpful when it comes to dealing with insurance. I have never once felt that the fees are unreasonable. They are incredibly kind and thoughtful and I highly recommend them to anyone from Davis, Woodland, and the surrounding areas. Thank you Covell Family Dental for making this Mom's life a whole lot easier!

Dr. Kim is very patient about answering any questions. He’s very thorough and professional. He employs the latest technologies and materials. I just had a crown prep today and Dr. Kim’s assistant Denise was wonderful. She explained everything she was doing and was very gentle. I’ve been very happy at this office.

I brought my 3 year old here after a terrible first experience at a different dental office. From the very start we were greeted with friendly faces and followed proper covid protocol. The office itself is very clean and sanitary. Brittany helped us and was extremely patient and caring with my wild daughter. She took the time to explain everything with my daughter and not once did we feel rushed. Dr. Kim was also very kind and patient with my daughter as well. Overall I would definitely recommend this dental office to anyone. Covell Family Dental turned a not so great experience into an amazing

Dr. Kim is an excellent dentist. I have always had terrible anxiety about going to the dentist, and I've had to have a lot of work done over the years. I've seen several dentists in Davis and not had very good experiences. That changed when I came to see Dr. Kim. Dr. Kim is thorough, kind and great at communicating with his patients. I had to get two crowns last week, and almost fell asleep because the procedure was so painless! His staff is really great too! They are very clear and knowledgeable about insurances policies, appointments and payment. And, they have serious and careful guidelines

Dr. Kim is friendly, thorough, knowledgeable, and professional. I'm confident that he will be able to provide and coordinate the long-term care for your dental health. (My impression on first visit)
His staff are warm and professional, particularly Courtney at reception and Brittany the hygienist.
Second visit, I'd a toothache and Dr Kim and Courtney was able to schedule me in promptly. The assistants Hillary and Vanessa were kind and professional and provided thorough instructions. Vanessa, the hygienist, was very skillful in administering the anesthesia. The procedure went very well.

Very happy with my cleaning! They took the time to really clean my teeth, educate me on what they saw needs to be repaired, and make sure they weren't missing anything. I went to another dentist in town (who had a high rating), and they were no where near as detailed and helpful as Covell Family Dental. I'm very appreciative. Staff was very friendly and caring.
