A Vermont-certified Horticulturist and owner of The Inner Garden, Inc., Joan Lynch sprouted and grew in the Delaware Valley, widely renown for spring flower shows and botanical gardens. After receiving her degree in Horticulture and Landscape Architecture from Temple University, she went on to specialize in horticultural consultations, landscape design, and plant care management programs.

For almost two decades, she has spread her consulting roots through the Philadelphia area, the Hamptons, and she has settled in Vermont. In 2003, Joan launched The Inner Garden, a horticultural services company specializing in the creation of sustainable landscapes and the use of tropical plants for green interior plantscapes.
Services
The Inner Garden provides creative, beautiful, sustainable solutions for both landscape and indoor "plantscapes". Working with our clients input, our professional horticultural staff creates an easily maintained atmosphere unique to the residential or commercial location setting.

Each design primarily addresses function, while keeping form in mind, in order to create either a landscape that requires less maintenance, or that results in a 'clean air', healthy indoor living space. To achieve our custom look for each setting, in addition to stone, we use native Northeastern trees, shrubs, and perennials from local growers.
We create landscapes that resonate with the user and the natural land, both of which are ultimately responsible for sustaining the site as it matures. Our unique and innovative design solutions integrate the manufactured landscape and nature for the benefit of both. Careful plant selection is the key first step in developing a balanced and sustainable landscape.
Interior plants have evolved from simple green decoration to an element that is conducive to creativity, calm, health, and productivity in the home or office.

Plants that are appropriately positioned are not only pleasing to the eye, they go beyond fads and styles and work in our interior environments to purify the air that we breath.1 Plants are also key to supporting a healthier emotional environment, positively affecting our physical conditions. As a living adornment and design element, plants draw the eye toward a focal point and soften problematic areas.
