Langlitz Leathers
The Langlitz Leathers workshop, and our community of customers across the globe, grew from a tradition that began with founder Ross Langlitz in 1947. When you order a Langlitz, you're not simply a customer--you're part of our Family. We get to know you, and work with you to build your ideal custom garment that you'll be proud to own.
Services
Langlitz Leathers is a family business that was established in 1947 by Ross Langlitz. While we are no longer a basement operation, we stay small to guarantee the quality and personal attention that larger corporations just cannot provide. We specialize in custom made motorcycle leathers (jackets, pants, and vests) but also offer a wide variety of bags and accessories.
Today, Langlitz Leathers is a fully functioning shop in Portland, with a staff of 15 highly skilled people, a myriad of products to choose from, and a fantastic community of customers that spans throughout the world. It didn't start this way though; in fact, when Ross Langlitz first opened up shop in 1947, he never dreamed that the Langlitz name would grow to reach across the ocean.
We specialize in custom leathers, and take pride in keeping our customers happy. We offer many different garments, styles, accessories, and ways to make your leathers unique to you. To get an idea of what we typically do, feel free to request a catalog, browse the website, or best of all, visit us.
Here at Langlitz Leathers, we take great pride in our work as well as all of the products that we sell. We care about providing the best products not just for our customers, but for the economy and the world. You can be sure that anything that you buy from us is Made in the USA. What does this mean to you?
Our guarantee is simple. If you don't think our custom-made leathers are as outstanding as we claim, return them, and we'll refund your money promptly. Our modern day is rife with ill fitting garments that don't last more than a season. Langlitz Leathers defies that trend. Our garments are truly heirloom quality works of art.

Exclusively the Best...
I have purchased 2 different sets of leathers there, a Custom Columbia set, tailor-made in 1980, and a in-house set of Sidewinder Goat leathers. Both sets of Jackets and Trousers are undoubtedly, the Highest Quality Leathers available anywhere in America.
Benny(kudos to Benny) and Scott are wonderful representatives of the company, knowledgeable, wise, and driven to accommodate customers with exactly what they desire in a set of leathers.
Langlitz is a must do supplier of the Best Leathers in the World!
Best Wishes,

The quality of the garments in undeniable but ordering long distance can be complicated and become extremely costly. In my case I unfortunately felt unvalued as a customer and eventually personally hurt by a year long process...having expected to be treated as “part of our family” as their website advertises, and instead feeling treated like a nuisance and stranger.

I bought my first Langlitz Cascade jacket back in 1996 when Jackie & Dave were running the shop (they're since retired.) I later bought a Columbia in 2001. Both were top class and I put many miles on them. Hadn't ridden in a few years and both jackets were stolen back in 2017 (plus I've grown a bit) so I stopped in to check what they had on the racks because I finally got a new bike.
Bennie, the general manager, was super friendly and helpful - he explained they didn't have much inventory since being closed to the public because of COVID-19 and let me try on some gloves as well. Went back yesterday

Update: got my langlitz jacket a year ago and it's the best motorcycle jacket I own. It will last a lifetime and more. Totally comfortable riding in the colder weather of the PNW, as the thick leather blocks the cold winds. I like how Langlitz collaborates with Dehen (another hundred year old Portland company that makes high-end quality wear). Langlitz is the signature wear of a true Portland biker.... Just my opinion, of course

2021/3/4 Currently only one customer in the store at a time. Staff all work and create in that one room so they are being safe. Manager came outside checked on me, I told him what I wanted. Manager came back out with my items and receipt. Top notch service and quality items.

ZERO FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE . I sent a Motorcycle jacket to Langlitz for repairs. They made this jacket in the 70s and it is still in excellent condition but the sleeve zipper broke. I use this jacket at least once a week and keep it clean and coated with Langlitz leather treatment. I asked them to check the jacket over and make any necessary repairs. I got the jacket back after a $175.00 charge for fixing the sleeve zippers but the jacket came back with the elbow pad ripped loose. I called them and sent them pictures . I talked to an angry man named Bennie that said in his words NO WAY WE DID THIS

My exhaustive research determined that Langlitz still makes the very highest quality handmade riding leathers available in the United States--and perhaps the world, judging by their celebrity and international clientele. Lewis Leathers in England is renowned at a similar price point, but Langlitz also happens to be situated in my hometown of Portland, Oregon.

I had read about all the international customers whose made-to-measure garments were produced with an extremely high success rate using the "foolproof" Langlitz instructions. I was pretty sure that I'd also need my jacket

I purchased a leather motorcycle jacket at Langlitz before most of the readers here were born. The zippers and lining is getting a bit beat up but the jacket itself is in near perfect condition. It was not at all inexpensive.... I think I paid ~ $600 for it which was when $600 was real money. I'm sure the same jacket would go for over $1k today.

Langlitz says that they will repair their own jackets and I've been meaning to take it by for a "tune-up" for several years. But I really hate to part with it.

Sure, you can buy a much cheaper leather jacket elsewhere and if you

Today I got word that my custom jacket and western pants will be shipped soon. This is the realization of a dream! Langlitz is the leader, period. Tip - put in a deposit well before your order to shave down the production wait - I visited early August and will get my gear six weeks later. But whatever the wait, you're getting the best. Scott, Bennie, John and everyone there was great to work with. Pricey? You bet. But good leathers can save you from thousands of dollars in a mishap - and you have the benefit of the classic look found no where else. They have wallets and key holders and

Langlitz is well known for it's fantastic quality custom motorcycle leathers. However, they really aren't set up for walk in customers. I'd say unless you're ready to get measured for a set of leather and have called ahead, don't bother stopping in.

Been doing business with Langlitz for thirty five years. They've custom designed for me three of the finest motorcycle jackets I've ever seen or worn. The last one made in 1993 is a custom combination of the Columbia and Aviator models constructed in heavy black goat skin and designed by Jackie and me. When out and about, the jacket never leaves my side. It fits me beautifully and whether on the bike or in the boardroom, this Langlitz beauty gets rave reviews from everyone who takes notice. Most importantly, the Langlitz protects me while riding. Do business with Langlitz and have

I'm glad Portland has a truly American company still, as I have never seen one (being born in the 90's) until now. Workers are actually making their products right in front of you. The highest quality leather you can buy. The only downside is the price, which is very expensive, but I'm not complaining too loudly. You get what you pay for by all means and I'm more than happy to pay full price. All of their work is custom, so if something doesn't fit after they make it, it does on the used or misc rack. That's where I got my vest. Fits me perfectly and at a huge discount

Though I don't ride any longer, and was living in Asia at the time (was home for a visit) where it was far too warm for one, I ponied up $900 for a goatskin Columbia in 2007. Great fit, great service. Am tempted to get a Cascade next time I'm in PDX.

This place is great! I went in to put $$ on my boyfriends leather pants that were on layaway and I was greeted by the owner who offered me something to drink. Paying $ on the layaway was easy. I ended up buying a few coffee mugs one for me and one for the BF.

It was really cool to see the leather being worked on. The workers work on the leather right there, not in china, not in thailand, but right there!!! I can't wait to get my own leathers from these guys, someday!

I believe they are open early Monday-Friday.

After last Monday's breakfast at Petite Provence, I decided to walk down Division and explore this part of Portland. And to paraphrase Forrest Gump: "The Rose City is like a box of chocolates... you just never know what you're gonna find...

Case in point: Langlitz Leathers near 25th and Division.

Langlitz was founded in 1947 and remains a family owned and operated business. They specialize in quality leather goods to meet the needs of the serious motorcycle rider. That includes custom order jackets, shirts, vests, pants, breeches, and accessories like gun purses and saddle bags

Founded in 1947, Langlitz is regarded by many as the best manufacturer of motorcycle jackets in the world. The company is still run by the second generation of the same family, and all the jackets are made on the premises.

The styling is very traditional and strongly focused on the US market: the leathers can be made with thickly quilted and padded arm and shoulder protectors, but they do not include the removable body armour that is normally found in European leathers. Think Marlon Brando in The Wild One, but in in a heavier quality leather, and you've got it. Their racing leathers are
