Children's Garden is the only remaining Non-Profit Parent Cooperative in the state of Iowa. For 75 years we have offered child care and child development services to hundreds of Des Moines and Polk County families. Our parental involvement creates an environment that is an extension of the home, rather than substitute by providing a care that is created by the partnership of parents and staff.
Our center is owned and operated by our parent membership in partnership with our Executive Director. There are many ways for parents to be involved! Parent involvement is encouraged; parent's can join the Board, participate in center volunteer opportunities, attend annual parent meetings, accompany classes on field trips, and more!

The day before school starts they informed me they wouldn't be able to transport. Also the year before on her very last day of they forgot to pick her up. I was the one that received a phone call from her school to go pick her up and then I had to drop her off there. Don't get me wrong they're nice just don't run a very good business practice

Our son has been going to Children's Garden for over a year and he gets excited to go each day. The staff is wonderful, especially Miss Barb in the 1 year room. They genuinely care about your children and have an amazing app that you download on your phone and you can see updates and photos of your child throughout the day. Children get to do arts and craft, music, yoga etc as young as 1 year old which is great for developmental skills! I recommend this place to family and friends.
