Since 1928, Northern Communities Credit Union has been serving our members and our communities in Northern Minnesota. We started out in the "new" Duluth City Hall when it was first built in 1928 and were formerly known as the Duluth City and County Employees Credit Union, to serve employees of the City of Duluth and St. Louis County.

I’ve been a member of this credit union for many years and there aren’t enough positive words to really express how I feel about them. Unlike our big national banks (ie. Wells Fargo ), who when you walk in the door, don’t know your name or even recognize you, NCCU staff welcome you with a personal greeting.
I’ve had not only a checking and savings with them, but car loans, personal loans and mortgages with them. The loan department staff make every effort to make the process simple and painless and they work with patrons to utilize the payment plan that fits each members monthly income

I have always been treated with the greatest respect and with a smiling, friendly staff person. Always willing to help, weather I have called or come in to the Credit Union personally, with what ever it is that I need. Never in all my years have I had a bad experience with the Credit Union. It's the best!

I am switching from this bank because I can deposit 500$ and only 200$ is available for a few days and they WILL give you an overdraft fee. I wanted to switch to a local bank and not support Wells Fargo but Wells fargo always lets me have my money right away. I also have received overdraft fees for being overdrawn just a few cents. The App is always down as well.
