My name is Tim Guill, and I'm a workers' compensation lawyer in Durango, CO. I choose to specialize in the field of workers' compensation out of respect for the men and women who sacrifice their health and safety every day at work so the rest of America can enjoy the fruits of their labor. This is how I was raised.
This is what I believe. If you were injured at work, contact my office today. As a workers' compensation attorney for more than 30 years, I can help you learn your options for protecting yourself and your job. Your first consultation is FREE. Since 1990, I have handled thousands of cases under the Colorado Workers' Compensation Act.

I was born and raised in the oil fields of Baytown, Texas. As a kid I used to climb to the top of oil derricks with friends where we could see oil tankers coming in from the Gulf to deliver or pick up their loads along the Houston ship channel. It was a region of Texas which was heavily industrial and my friends and classmates came from predominantly blue-collar families.
Under Colorado law, most workers injured on the job are entitled to workers' compensation benefits for lost wages. Colorado has a "no-fault" workers' compensation statute. That means that the injured worker is entitled to receive workers' compensation benefits even if an accident occurred because of your own mistake.
Even minor injuries can have major medical complications if you do not receive the right medical treatment. Let's face it: the most important aspect of your Colorado workers' compensation case is receiving the quality care you need to assist you in returning back to the best medical condition possible.
A contingent fee is an arrangement that permits the injured worker to obtain legal representation without having to pay the workers' comp attorney a retainer, and without having to advance court costs. The attorney advances the court costs, and the attorney's fee is deferred until you begin to receive monetary benefits.
There are several purposes served by the free initial consultation. Above all, you should keep in mind that you need to be able to have a good working relationship with your workers' compensation attorney. Let's face it - sometimes people don't get along. The free initial consultation gives you the chance to decide whether you would feel comfortable with an attorney before you sign on the dotted line.

Had him as a lawyer for many months, he didn't do anything for me. Made promises to getting the insurance company to getting me back in with doctors, and the treatment I required, and more. Then quit with no reason or warning. Won't even send me the documents that have to do with my case, or documents I left with him to send to the insurance, that they didn't respond to, that needs resubmitting.
