STAR Transit is a public bus transportation service, offering bus transportation in Kaufman County, Rockwall County, Mesquite, Balch Springs, Seagoville, Hutchins and DeSoto. Anyone residing in our Service Area may ride STAR Transit. Destinations could include job locations, educational facilities, non-emergency medical appointments, senior centers, and career-training facilities.
We can take you to run errands and to visit friends as well. STAR Transit is a political sub-division of the state of Texas and provides over 235,000 rides per year. STAR Transit services are provided with a fleet of 65 vehicles which are all ADA-compliant. Services
The Balch Springs Midtown Express Route 101 starts at Wal-Mart and ends at the Peachtree Senior Living Apartments. Riders within our service area may connect to this route using STAR Transit's dial-a-ride service or the STARNow app. Call 877-631-5278 and schedule a ride to the Balch Springs Recreation Center and transfer to the Balch Springs Midtown Express 101 bus.
STAR Transit connects you to the DART Rail Green Line via COMPASS, City Of Mesquite PASsenger Shuttle. Mesquite COMPASS is weekday express bus service between Mesquite's Hanby Stadium and Lawnview Station and a great way to travel to Dallas & Fort Worth, TX. The first bus leaves Hanby Stadium at 5:02 a.m. and the last bus departs Lawnview Station at 7:38 p.m. Peak period service operates every hour.
The Hutchins Shuttle Route 401 has 11 stops serving the UNT Dallas Station on the DART Rail Blue line, FedEx Home Delivery (Hutchins), FedEx (Cedardale Rd.), the Hutchins Senior Center, Cedar Valley College and the Hutchins Gateway Apartments. The Hutchins Shuttle is available to the general public, company identification badges are not required to ride.
The app allows riders to book and pay for same day trips in Mesquite, Balch Springs, Kaufman, Terrell and Seagoville. Pick up and drop off points must be inside these zones. Wait time is based on vehicle availability. Tap on the "Where to?" box and select your drop-off location by searching for a point-of-interest or address.
Rides are available to the public in and around Kaufman County, Rockwall County, Balch Springs, Mesquite, Seagoville and DeSoto. Our buses are ADA accessible. Our drivers are trained in first aid, CPR and defensive driving to ensure the safety of our riders. Call STAR Transit at least 1 business day but not more than 2 weeks in advance of the desired trip.

I was scheduled for pick up at Wal-Mart at 1:00 pm. I was out front at 12. I called and told they are coming in half hour. No one came at 1. I called. Was first told pickups at Wal-Mart are done at the gas station. Unreal. Then was told a bus came but did not see me in front of the door. That driver is a LIAR! No ride came at 1. Then told I was not scheduled! How the heck did I get to Wal-Mart in the first place! I saw a bus in the parking lot. He left at 1:45! Didn't bother to pick me up. The drivers are nice. The service leaves a lot to be desired. Broke my foot, had to go to urgent care. I drive an 18 wheeler and can’t drive to the urgent care place so I call these guys. Cool going, but coming back was told couldn’t wait for me to get a copy of my x-rays. Had to schedule a stop to go to the pharmacy. After I get back to the truck stop. Terrell TX not real friendly to truck drivers.

If I could give a -5 I would. PLEASE PLEASE THINK TWICE ABOUT WHO YOU LET DRIVE YOUR LOVED ONES AROUND. We don't have a choice who drives around us. On 12/20/17 a STAR Transit vehicle operated by a 73 year old driver T-Boned me at an intersection as he was entering the DART station. During the hour that we waited for police, I tried to be compassionate in my panic and be understanding (it was dark, he has glasses, it's foggy - things happen). But after police arrive, his statement flips. He decided to lie to the police and tell them that my lights were off - completely untrue. He gives

The driver of bus 707 had the driveway almost completely blocked this morning making it difficult for others to pass. Then he was following too closely and almost hit me in my rear drivers side quarter panel as I was backing into a parking spot. He was using his cell phone and had one hand on the wheel. Very unprofessional. The service Star Transit provides is a great thing. However you may want to be more cautious as to who you hire.

Omg for anyone that. Lives in Ellis County!!! You know we don't have a public transport ion to speak of these company are Life Savers!!!i had to have hip replacement on 7/13/2015. I couldn't drive to. Medical City Dallas. So Star picked me and my wife at home in Ferris.Drove us to the hospital. Then they picked up my wife that same day. Brought her home... Then they picked me up at Medical City after having my hip replaced and brought me home...Buses are spotless. Every bus has a lift for the handicapped!!! Again thank you Star Transit!!
