Do not stay here if you want your trip to not be ruined! They are INFESTED with bed bugs and they won't tell you that. I woke up one morning COVERED in bites all over my body and after a week it's still there itching so much that I'm not able to enjoy my vacation here in California. They won't even refund you, they would rather kick you out like it's your fault they have bed bugs. They were so unapologetic that their property has bed bugs.

Told hotel clerk that the room had the smoke detector sealed and cigarette burns in the floor in addition to it smelling like smoke. I was informed it would be looked into the next day but no room change was offered.
Today I see a charge for 50 dollars on my credit card. I called, they said it was for smoking. My entire adult life I’ve never smoked and will be charging back the fraudulent claim that I gave evidence of to the clerk the night of check in. Be careful giving credit card information to this business! And beware the state of the rooms is low.

The location is why I decided to stay here. I stayed the night and went to the dodgers playoff game the next day. Much better getting rest here for one night and be fresh for the game compared to being tired after a long drive. Rode some bird scooters at night to go to some bars and get some food and walked back at 2am. Not the scariest thing for a guy.

I'm only in downtown/Inglewood for 2 nights so I decided to stay here due to the cheap rates. You get what you pay for.
The king bed was comfortable. The sheets, on the other hand, were very thin. The room was without an iron and ironing board so I had to retrieve it in the main lobby. As seen in one of the pictures, there were visible stains on the ironing board sheet. On the iron itself, there was a hole where you put the water in. I had to improvise and cover the hole with toilet paper so it wouldn't spill on my clothes.

This small chain Inn is one of three locations.
I've only had the opportunity... Of staying at H.I. Express South most recently and let me tell you... I'm not sure if I would or wouldn't do it again...
My best friend booked us three nights here as he was visiting from out of state and wanted to treat me to a mini-vacay away from work and home while he was in town and I'm grateful for that alone.

The hotel looks nicer from the outside. Clean room, but overpriced. No water bottles in the room, not even a jar. They won't clean up the room while you are staying here. No continental breakfast. For this price better go to a hotel that includes at least cookies and a kettle for your morning coffee or tea.

From the start the place looked very calm and in general a good place to stay,as soon as we got into the room I noticed a empty coke bag behind the night stand .the edges of the carpet look as if they haven't been cleaned or steamed for year's!. I left the place how they left me it dirty tbh about it and still left 13 bucks for a tip idk why!before we got a chance to leave my cousin started to wake up with bite marks on his leg and chest .he still to this day he still getting bites from bed bugs!!! If i can give a negative 5 rating i would the front desk is so inefficient and seems like he doesnt like his job (indian guy) reservations was confirmed via their website. upon getting there from a long drive they mentioned that xcheck in is at 2pm however there is a $30 charge for early check in. so went to have late breakfast or early lunch. When i got back the indian guy mentioned that no rooms are ready and will call my cell once its ready. waited at the parking lot . rooms are just a few feet from my car. 2 rooms were done aT 11:45. so gave a chance to honor his word at 1157 saw the guy leave

Last min stay that was cheap for a couple of days, which I was happy about. I'm usually someone who checks reviews before I stay at a place but i didn't do that this time. I woke up to a couple of bug bites throughout the night, my boyfriend suggested to wear pants.. which worked. The decoration was bland in the room, carpet was very dirty, mirror had graffiti, there was a bandage on the desk leg, and the drawers to put our clothes in were broken. CAREFUL , a THIEF is operating with the hotel's Housekeeping team.
An Apple Watch disappeared from our stuff.
My daughter's Apple watch disappeared. We can track down the location of the watch with the app Find My. It gave us the location and the exact address of where the watch was. We could tell that the watch was moving away from the hotel and going to a different place. The manager didn’t do anything to help.
You may find a better location for your stay at Los Angeles.

We enjoyed our stay here. Room was big with 3 queen beds. We booked last minute and added an extra day with no problem. Customer service was excellent. When we arrived the gentleman at the front desk gave me room keys and stated if there was any problem with the room he still had 2 open and available and we could switch rooms. That was not necessary though cause are room was good. Pool was not open due to COVID-19. They don't have microwaves in the room but they do have one down stairs you can go use they call it the microwave room. Also no coffee but they do have hot and cold water in the lobby

Sooo wish I could give this place no stars!! Yes I know this place is not a 5 star place and the area is not as nice, but we had to book it as it was closest and available in the area I was at. I was not wrong at thinking it was not clean as well. But told myself I will survive . I checked in as normal I was asked to provide my plate # and vehicle type at the time I did not have it and told the mgr I would get the info and come back and register it. For starters, I booked via bookings.com and it was clear that the hotel system didn’t transfer information too well.
I ended up switching rooms at one point because it made more sense for me financially and that was an issue as well.

I've stayed here a few times. it's an inexpensive inn is about 1*-1.5* and situated close to downtown Los Angeles.
PROs: good location if driving; clean & spacy rooms with fridge;
CONs: not safe area especially at night; very lack of parking slots; very very slow (about 1-2M/s) and unstable internet connection, impossible watching video; some shabby furniture;

Drove all night and was wanting to rest and take a shower peacefully and with a peace of mind but instead got suprised with roaches crawling on many of our walls and behind our bed dead animals as in roaches and some bed bugs called to let person know what we had seen and killed he wasnt suprised at all just handed us a spray and told us to spray on contact and no worries but decided not to risk it and got out ASAP since i rather be safe then sorry will not be coming to this inn everr again if u want to decide to stay here GOODLUCK YOU MIGHT NEED IT BOOK AT UR OWN RISK

Spacious rooms, bed is firm but in a way that I like. Free parking is nice and great location for the price. Definitely worth a stay if you need to stay one night in LA

- as others have noted, clearly not much attention paid to cleaning (the smoke detector still had a bag taped over it presumably by a past guest that was smoking in the room)
- shower head was not installed properly and after getting maintenance to fix it water pressure was still garbage
