Often cardiovascular disease is referred to as heart disease or coronary artery disease. Cardiovascular disease encompasses many organs and the body's vasculature system that affect the lungs, brain, kidneys or other organs. This term may refer to one or more diseases.

Although not all is known about how heart disease starts, we do understand that it can result from internal pressures against the coronary walls that stimulate plaque and lead to narrowing of the vessels. This process is often called atherosclerosis and can be affected by genetic and environmental factors contributing to the overall outcome.
The primary goals of Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for patients with chronic kidney disease are to "prevent and treat protein-energy malnutrition, mineral and electrolyte disorders" and to minimize the impact of other conditions on the progression of kidney disease, including calorie intake, protein, anemia, diabetes, obesity, hypertension and disorders of lipid metabolism, among others.
Did you know that 80% of those with celiac disease in the U.S have not been diagnosed? Celiac disease may happen in adults or children. Diagnosing it may be difficult since there have been over 200 digestive symptoms associated with the disease reported. Knowledge of celiac disease and how a registered dietician can be vital to your healthcare team is important to management of the disease.
When your blood sugar (glucose) is too high, you are experiencing hyperglycemia, which is a condition associated with diabetes. Our bodies use glucose as energy from the foods we eat. In this process it first must be converted to energy with the use of a hormone produced by the pancreas called insulin.

Such an amazing experience from start to finish. I felt so supported and challenge to implement healthier lifestyles.

Stephanie is very kind, knowledgeable, personable, encouraging and motivating. SO Nutrition has great new technology that aids in drafting healthy goal setting and planning. I'm very excited to begin my journey and make it to my 30 day followup to see my results.

I left here feeling pumped and ready to begin! This is a new journey for me and Stephanie didn't make me feel judged or awkward at all! I highly recommend SO Nutrition!

My daughter and I started going to So Nutrition 2 months ago to help us improve our health. She has taught us how to gauge healthy portion sizes, how to make better food choices and the importance of exercise and weight training. The has a really cool machine that measures your muscles and fat and it tells you how much and where it is on your body. Very eye opening! She helps us set goals and holds us accountable for our eating and exercise. The machine is proof to her and us if we are doing what we promised in our monthly goals. I highly recommend So Nutrition to anyone who struggles with

I thought that I knew everything about nutrition until I met Stephanie. I had seen other nutritionists in the past and now realize that the advice I was receiving was not the best for me. For example, I had been advised not to eat whole eggs and to only eat egg whites and foods that were fortified with protein. Since switching to Stephanie, eating has become so much more enjoyable as I have reincorporated foods like avocados and whole eggs into my diet and now have a very comprehensive understanding of how alcohol and exercise impact my weight. My goal is to increase muscle and reduce fat and
