A life-long resident of Camden, Doreen was educated in the Camden City Public School System as she attended Lincoln Elementary School, Cooper B. Hatch Middle School and was a proud graduate of Camden High School Class of 1963. After High School, Doreen furthered her education by attending Camden County College and Glassboro State College, where she obtained her Associate and Bachelors Degree respectively in Education and Social Studies.
While attending college, Doreen worked at the Campbell Soup Company. Upon the completion of her college studies and the obtaining of its merits, Doreen continued to strive, move forward and decided to accept the challenge of full-filling her life long dream of becoming a funeral director. She applied and was accepted to the American Academy of McAllister Institute of Funeral Science in New York.

Boyd Funeral Home was established in 1993 at 1458 Mt. Ephraim Avenue, Camden, NJ (across from West Jersey Virtua Hospital) to service the needs of the community. Boyd Funeral Home is an air conditioned facility with ample parking, state of the art equipment and transportation to satisfy customer's needs and requests.
After a death, there are many legal details to hammer out. While it is not necessary to get a lawyer, it is strongly recommended. A lawyer will make sure all the 't's are crossed and i's are dotted. The time following a death of a loved one is extremely emotional, and even the closest family will have disagreements over the most trivial matters.
What is to be done with bank accounts after a death varies regionally. In some regions, bank accounts are automatically frozen after a death. To avoid any complications, the bank should be notified immediately, and you should find out the procedures for releasing these funds, and how to set up a new account for funds received after the death.
Everyone knows they should have a will, but the vast majority - about 70% of us - do not. Writing a will is easy and inexpensive, and once you are done you can rest easy knowing your hard earned money and property will be distributed according to your wishes. As well, if you have children, you can leave instructions on who will be left in charge of them if you pass, leaving that decision out of the courts hands.

This was the best funeral home that my family and I have dealt with. My spouse, Lamorde Fludd, passed away and Boyd’s Funeral Home was recommended to me by a friend. They were very transparent about the cost of everything. Their Chapel was large, clean and beautiful. They allowed me to select the cemetary that I wanted my husband to be buried at. The limo drivers were on time and extremely professional. Please go to this funeral home should your loved one pass away. You will not have any regrets afterwards. Thank you!
