Left to their own devices, your trees will prune themselves - sometimes onto your roof or car. Your plants need regular pruning and care to look their best and stay healthy. Pruning trees and shrubs is essential to maintaining healthy plants. It's important to remove dead or diseased wood, to increase air circulation to the plant's interior and to increase flower and fruit production.
Some occur with regularity and others strike when conditions are right. With the right expertise, they're preventable and controllable. We can diagnose plant ailments, control or eliminate existing disease or insect infestation, and prevent infestations and disease from happening again. Trees, like any other living thing, are susceptible to diseases.
No matter how small or large, when we remove trees or shrubs from your property, we leave it cleaner than we found it. Cutting down a tree without professional help could be risky. If you have no enough experience and knowledge, please do not attempt to cut down or remove a tree to prevent injuries and for general safety.
We can help you decide whether a damaged tree can be saved; whether cracks can be repaired, or if a diseased or insect infested tree can be treated. We're frequently called upon for pre-construction evaluations, planting feasibility studies, and city and park plantings. Ostvig did an excellent job of removing a huge old oak in our back yard. They scheduled it to our wants & were there right on time. Virtually everything about their service was excellent, with cooperative employees.
On the same trip, they trimmed a number of other trees well and cleaned up thoroughly.
Their bid was reasonable and we feel that we got great service.

As someone who has done tree service before, I can honestly say Ostvig's services are exceptional.
From the first step of getting a quote, to the final clean up, everything was perfect.
We had several trees removed and several others trimmed, and everything went according to plan, and was done quickly and professionally.
Five stars is an understatement.

Russ is very slow to respond to any communication and not very thorough or clear which resulted in a misunderstanding and eventually to their refusal to do the work. Russ originally visited, reviewed the work and gave a verbal quote which we agreed to pay. The work to be done was to trim several trees around the house and to remove 3 trees. 6 days later we received the quote. I immediately signed and returned the agreement with a note added that I assumed that the tree removal included the removal of the stumps (which was not noted in the agreement). We used Ostvig Tree Service for major tree pruning. They came out promptly and gave a fair & accurate estimate. They scheduled the job, were on time, did GREAT work, were very friendly (my wife was home- had some Q's, they were very courteous & knowledgeable), and did an amazing job! Cleaned up everything, and they did the job with a full crew and a huge 4x4 boom lift in a few hours! The invoice was for the price quoted, and they did some extra work without charging. VERY happy! Excellent experience from my initial phone call to them. I had used one of their competitors twice in the past 10 years and attempted to use the competitor again. I called the competitor, went straight to voicemail and received no call back in 24 hours. So I sent an email. In 3 days, I never received a response. So I called Ostvig. The phone was answered promptly and an appointment was set up for Russ to come to our home to discuss our tree pruning needs. Russ arrived at the designated time, I explained what I wanted.
