Since its founding over 48 years ago, Tri-Con's mission has been to provide high quality, affordable early care and education for children of low-to-moderate income families. Our mission extends to and includes the families of our students where we act as a community liaison when support is needed from other social service agencies and professionals.
Tri-Con Child Care Center was established in 1971 when United Way assessed the need for additional subsidized early care and education programs in Highwood and Highland Park. Trinity Episcopal Church in Highland Park, the National Council of Jewish Women, and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Highland Park came together to create Tri-Con Child Care.

Services
Tri-Con's preschool program assists a child's smooth transition to Kindergarten. Students build confidence and develop skills within a diverse, cheerful, and nurturing environment that prepares them to become lifelong learners. Experienced, highly trained teachers support the children in their early education by fostering curiosity, experimentation, imagination, and problem solving.
Community members play an important part in enhancing Tri-Con's services. There are many opportunities for groups or individuals to come and work with the children and teachers in the classrooms or to assist with tasks around the Center. We welcome and encourage you to visit Tri-Con to see our programs in operation.
Tuition is based on a sliding fee scale computed on family size and income. While some families qualify for state subsidy, others are eligible for Tri-Con's own Scholarship Program. Every family receives some type of assistance. All staff members are state qualified, and Tri-Con's teacher-to-child ratios actually exceed the expectations of DCFS' minimum standards with lower teacher-to-child numbers.

My son has only been attending for 3 weeks, but he has loved it since the first visit! The admin staff and educators are all very friendly, loving, comforting, and knowledgeable! The center is state certified and excels in a number of areas over the standards. The teach to child ratio is well below the state recommendation! The food served is great and my son loves it. They do a lot of community partnerships that I think are just fantastic. They can bring home books from the public library's lending program, which my boy loves. We have read his first library book several times already! They also
