Gertrude B. Nielsen Child Care & Learning Center
From the moment you walk in the door at the Gertrude B. Nielsen Child Care and Learning Center, you know you are in a special place. A place that nurtures and respects children. You'll see children's artwork, an aviary and aquarium, plants, colors and textures that are inviting and stimulate learning.

In short, an entire community developed for, and committed to, guiding children in their discovery of the world and themselves. The most important milestones in a child's life are measured not in inches, but in discoveries.
Services
As your child gains knowledge and experience, your child will make transitions throughout the school. All of the programs throughout the school strive to meet each child's individual needs and therefore each classroom has a range in chronological ages. There is an impressive amount of research supporting multi-age grouping, which is healthy and natural for children.
My daughter is in the infant program and GBN made my transition back to work so much smoother. I knew my daughter was in good hands with a loving, caring staff. Our infant program accepts children beginning at 6 weeks and runs through approximately 15 months. Infancy is one of the most important times in a person's life.
Our goals for your toddler are a positive self-concept and independence. With this as his foundation, your child will have the basis for learning that helps him achieve his greatest potential in the following preschool years. The program acknowledges toddlers' newly acquired motor skills, tremendous inquisitiveness, and need to explore and discover the environment.
In GBN's preschool programs my son has blossomed. He's learned about letters and sounds, and also about good play and how to share. He's learning to read and to add numbers, and also about how to be a good friend and to be kind to others. The preschool program is designed to develop the total child.
A full day means fewer transitions so your child can focus on learning without the frequent interruptions of half-day programs that require before and after school care. More time means more opportunity for in-depth learning, providing children with the skills they need to excel in first grade and beyond.

GBN Child care is a wonderful environment for children to learn, play, and grow. The office staff is caring and works hard to accommodate everyone. The teachers are wonderful and truly care about the children. If you are in need of daycare this is a great place to check out. The staff will meet with you and set up a tour so you can see for yourself. The teacher to child ratio is very high and each child gets plenty of one on one attention. The outdoor play areas are well maintained and the indoor mini gym allows for plenty of exercise even during bad weather. Well worth a look!
