Fort Smith Paper was founded circa 1895 in downtown Fort Smith, AR. Supplying the business needs of the downtown merchants and manufacturers. The business was moved to a 2 story building with a basement across from the Judge Parker Courthouse national historic site. Robert and Peggy Gordon acquired the business from the Sipe family in 1974.
Ada Paper was opened in 1978 by Robert Gordon. Mr. Gordon hired Rick Nichols as Ada's manager and sole sales-rep. Rick and a small, dedicated staff worked hard to build the business based on quality products, service, and support. Rick's success insured that Ada Paper would grow out of the original location.
Fort Smith Paper Company has experience serving customers in a diverse range of market segments. We have been called on by organizations in healthcare (including hospitals and extended care), public and private school districts, government, manufacturing / industry, and commercial real estate (including office buildings), and have been able to develop working solutions that meet all their needs.
