The food there is always good. The prices are good as well. The service is outstanding also. One thing, when your done, make sure you save room for homemade pie and a hot cup of coffee.

Very popular stop in Hico. Nice selection of diner type food with a daily special. Patty melt was very good and I added an order of their "famous onion rings" that were also very good.

What a great gem. Delicious food, wonderful wait staff, friendly and attentive.
Felt like I was a local and part of the family. Will be back again!

Great cozy, family, old school restaurant. I had the foot long corn dog. It was very tasty. Just like the Fletchers corn dogs at the State Fair of Texas! 😃 My husband had the cheese burger. He said that it was very good. I would recommend this restaurant if you are passing through Hico, TX.

This is a self seating, local favorite restaurant. We were able to find a table in the very back corner but had to wait to get service. Every one got the chicken fry steak special, no complaints in the food. The "special" desert with the special was less then desirable but the apple pie was a 5/5. Recommend just stopping by for pie to go.

Amazing pie! Highly recommend blueberry and banana pie. (It's one pie, and they make it work, I promise)

I ordered a bowl of chili, with cornbread. All delicious, and I took half home for a later meal.( Also delicious!)
HAD to have a piece of pie, amazing. Friendly staff, large portions of very good food. You are encouraged to relax and enjoy your meal, even in the busy atmosphere, as it is a favorite family place.

Let me start by saying service was great. The rolls were the best thing there, which were delicious. The chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken and onion rings all lacked seasoning and was fairly flavorless. We took home a 6 slice pie (choose 6 different pie slies) which I had high hopes for. They were okay. Not bad but not as great as I had hoped. The peanut butter meringue was a little weird, maybe too artificial tasting. Keylime was by far the best one.

Chicken fried steak hits the spot, baked potato and salad. The rolls are driven and I was too full for pie....so coconut creme for the road!

A beautiful summer drive from Waco to Hico resulted in a delicious old-fashioned cheeseburger and piece of chocolate pie that hit the spot. Add to that an awesome take out pie to enjoy at home and you have the makings of a perfect foodie experience. So worth the trip!
